Smart technology and a dumb crook.Did the guy get caught?

As I'm sure you know most convenience stores in the northest are operated by Pakistanis, anyway at least 2 or3 times a week I see videos like this on TV except the Pakistani shopkeeper is armed with either a gun or baseball bat and usually gets the best of the robber.

so far they havent caught him, it took them several days before they even came in to acknowledge a crime had happened .. not a word so far. The file is probably already lost - hey maybe someone on here will recognise him ;) One guy in the video that almost gets shot, doesnt even work there, he was just delivering!

Yeah I saw the guy stocking shelves.I guess if the police are unwilling to enhance some of the frames to get a clear pic of the guy,he may never get caught.
That is your biz right?Make the cops an offer to id this guy,or don't they care? I have read some disturbing editorials concerning the police in Nassau.

nah they dont care unless someone is killed i guess ... i could have used the video out on the DVR and recorded to PC like that, but yah know extra time .. this was done using the network software that comes with it (GE DVMRe-CT) which is not as great as the PC based systems I deal with now, but it is a plug, play and forget machine ... i only really did it for the owner, the Cops here do have some software for editing, dont know if they have the best though, but i Know i cant afford the best myself yet ... ;-)

Is this Esso on Carmichael Road, if it is it looks like the middle of the day and that place is always crowded.

P.S. I understand if you cannot disclose the location. Oh and by the way, what is the best?

No not an Esso.

Here are a couple of the main systems out there:

http://www.oceansystems.com/dtective/index.html

And a hardware demux for old school systems: (UK)

Were you talking about DVR systems or LE systems?

I dont want to be an alarmist, but I could have sworn that I saw that same individual in the same red cap and jeans pants yesterday crossing the street where Sid's Bar is going in Garden Hills on Blue Hill Road south.

He didnt have on the shades, but i am almos certai the cap was the same, and he was just as dirty as the picture portrayed.

What should I have done!?

'cause nobody really likes to be watched or feel rushed especially in a book store when you just trying to scan the contents of the book before you buy it. BUT, why didn't they have someone watching the security monitors or were they just recording without a monitor?

Most small stores cant afford to hire someone to watch the video, and in this case the whole incident took less than 2 1/2 minutes from when he walked in the store and walked out ...
