Has the world's climate reached a stage that we are ready to really take a plunge into the world's market?
Is the Bahamas at a stage where international business companies can come here, and invest?
How can we gear companies to compete more effectively in today's market?
Global market that is?
Taking notes as you talk!

I guess no one has a clue, including me!
LOL....
Well, is it the right time to invest in the Bahamian economy then?
Can Bahamians and foreigners alike spend their money in relative peace, for the future?

Anytime is a good time to invest! (Depending on the risk one wants to take and how long one can wait for the rewards.)
Can Bahamians and foreigners alike spend their money in relative peace, for the future?
Sure! But both have to be playing by the same rules.
Has the world's climate reached a stage that we are ready to really take a plunge into the world's market?
Yes! A hundred time yes! For example, we should have been allowed to invest in the world stock markets years ago! (Without having to get Central Bank’s OK.) There would be a lot more rich Bahamians than there are now!

They do, don’t they?

Find out what the Global Market wants and then provide it in the quantity and more important, the quality - and price - that the market demands.
Find out how the game is played. A game of stick ball on the park is not like playing in Yankee Stadium. The rules are different, the competitive nature more intense. Most of the business here, local ones, are playing “stick ball.” Happy, there are a few, as well as a number of Bahamians who are of the “Yankee Stadium” quality. They must be allow to blossom and flourish!
If we could only break out of our “island mind set” we could be right up there with the big boys! There is no doubt in my mind about that!

I would add to that "small island nation mindset". Some Bahamian think we cannot do it simply because we are a small nation or that we think of ourselves as insignificant. Sadly, I also think our governments and top people still think so to. Which is part of the reasons why there is still much restriction. Foreigners, however, have a different opinion about our country and its potential. You always hear them talking about how great our country is and their plans for what they want to do with our country. How is it that people around the world have more apriciation for the Bahamas than Bahamians? It's gonna take more than "My Bahamas" to turn that around.
Anyway, International companies are already investing. What are international "Business" companies? If you mean other than tourism, then it will take a much broader focus in education other that hotel and catering to bring them here. We would also need very agressive policies in our Financial services, manufacturing and our tech sectors not only to attract foreign companies, but to build our own.
