As if anyone else was going to get the recommendation!

because Ive had the HBCU experience I can say this is no different than a white M.S holder with ivy league experience being ushered in to helming the top post at an HBCU (that will not ever happen because it send the wrong message!!!!)...when there are black phD's out there who can get the job done who are more qualified...it wont happen FAMUANS would protest and march and rally and scream NO- as we are known to be pro- activist against injustice (COBUS should take a lesson) we even turned Jeb Bush down from speaking at a graduation because he was campaigning for his gubernatorial 2nd leg and he wanted to use us and we said if he came we would turn our back on him when he made his speech...dont get me wrong...we are in the Bahamas, COB is not an HBCU, but the significance is the same...a qualified Bahamian being overlooked... coincidentally my school was 85% black 10% white and 5% other...but I digress

we have to be careful about what kinds of messages we send to our youth...especially young Bahamian women because women are discriminted against in our constitution...we have to be careful how we do business and how we negotiate...because apt times its not done professionally and ethically (a la snake)

Im all for excellance in academia...its been a rough road for COB...the institution has the foundation for better but I would hate for all the hard work of Dr. Keva Bethel and the faculty and staff to be overshadowed by the likes of the Ms. Hodderat the end of the day no matter the bahamian husband or the bahamian children or the mcgill connection (which means nothing to me) it still sends the message that foreign is better...Bahamians with qualifications are passed over because the foreignor is better...another white one at that...the children are watching...

All this to say, I hope we are cognizant of the messages we are sending......we have to be careful of what that does to the mentality of a people...everything is not so open and shut...there is deeper significance here...

im praying for the sanctity of the Drs. Johnson's... maybe they could helm a education think tank or consulting gig...death to the snake council while were at it...

I could care less about where you think I stand...you have no clue of what I think...i gave a scenario...capable black phds being overshadowed by their less qualified white counterparts in running an HBCU then I stated that Bahamian institutions should be run by bahamians who are more qualified...if a white bahamian phd was in the mix I wouldnt have a problem with that...their bahamian!

what are you missing here...sadly, people see what they want to see...read my post again and then apologise!
