so a bustling 17 yr old is elated to have achieved their driver's licence.:bouncy: all well and good rite, until they learn that it is against the law to drive without insurance. oh joy ah huh... until the insurance company informs you that you cannot attain insurance until you are 18:mad:
this has to be one of the heights of dumbness ta me.:hammer: i wud neva say change the age of getting a licence from 17 - that won't make much of a difference in reference to driving experience etc.
but how about more insurance companies that will provide insurance for those under 18? (if you kno one let me know) maybe even have insurance between certain hours? something! :sparky: jus dnt seem rite to me ta give the licence and then people can't drive lol:gi:

some insurance companies take 17yr olds, but it is very expensive and you will only be added to that of another driver, provided it is not a sports car. Call around.

Yeah it is dumbness. What about third party? Well dad always let me go and drive by myself because the car had third party protection, my mom on the other hand thought I was too much of a risk without the insurance, or would come with me :( .

But if you see how they let people pass throught the driving test you would understand why they dont give you insurance until you get that one year worth of experience. Believe me!

the way most bahamians drive you would think they have no experience driving .. and i mean the older drivers also ..

slicer,

u tell no lie this is one of the dumbest things that go down in the bahamas. whatever the age they set the ability to obtain a drivers license and the ability to obtain car insurence should go hand in hand. all it does is encourage people to commit insurence fruad ie parent buys the car puts it in their name but it it really the childs.

oh well i guess its not that big of a deal cuase its been like that since i can remeber.

personally i think the driving age should be 18. over here i hate that 15 year are enstrusted with cars. not that u necessarily believe the older a person is the better they are at driving, its just that a 15 yr old is still a child. esecially in these days where these chilldren arent tuaght how to be adults. they b scrubs and scrubetts livin at home till they 30 + but whatever thing else they wanne be man and woman. :dgi:

I would like to make a little example.

Remember the boy thta killed his neighbors daughter by using a wrestling move. He was between 12 and no older than 14 at the time. They thought that he was rsponsible and knew exactly what he was doing. A 12 - 14 year old.

So why isn't a 17 year old accountable for a insurance.

Yeah I know a different country, within a State, with different laws.
