The Honourable Neville Wisdom is making some very patriotic, nationalistic noises. He is making very good sense. He is trying to put sporting and cultural houses in the Bahamas in order. Mr. Neville Wisdom has been a pleasant surprise as a cabinet minister.
Mr. Wisdom is displaying that he has a vision for the country. He speaks sense and he bahaves responsibly. He wants to straigthen up baseball. Baseball is rife with corruption. The Baseball organization needs to be investigated. There is corruption to be uncovered there! More than the corruption, they have destroyed the sport in the Bahamas. Sailing has to be sorted out. All the sailing clubs have to account for the money given by the treasury. This should be required before any more money is given. Where is the Auditor General in all this? The Auditor General should facilitate the proper accounting for public funds. The Auditor General should put in place requirements that would make it easy for organizations to account for the funds they have and for any funds given by the government.
Mr. Wisdom is setting an excellent personal example for the community, especially the young people. Many persons have taken note that Mrs. Wisdom is at all the functions her husband attends. This is great! This sends the right message! What seems even clearer is that she is there because she wants to be there. They make it clear that they are a team.
We need to support Ministers like Mr. Neville Wisdom. Without prompting he has converted his political headquaters to a community center. This sends the message that he is there to serve all the people in that community. We see many other elected politicians with their political signs up while collecting government funds to pay for the maintenance of a community office. Many of the offices are not open daily. So what else is new?
Mr. Wisdom is making a great contribution to this nation and he appears to be a real patriot. I hope we can revisit Mr. Wisdom at different times in the future to see if he remains on track. Somehow I think he will.
