View Full Version : High Gas Prices $5.00
Does anyone feel the hurting with the recent hike of gas prices; well for one I am feeling it. What ever happened to that deal with Petro Caribe where has he gone...
Gas this Summer is projected to exceed $5.00 a gallon,( http://www.thenassauguardian.com/index.php ) that’s enough to pick your visiting family up from the airport and go back home.... for get going to the store for food.. You’re safer ordering pizza all month.
And speaking about the airport; you know that if gas prices for us increase, then also airline tickets increase, hell I bet even jitney prices have increased by now ( I will look into that).
But seriously, I know a while back the ministry was talking about some so sweet deal with a guy in South America some where (Petro Caribe was his name) does anyone know what I am talking about. Or does everyone just plan on taking the bus this summer... Here’s another taught (CAR POOLING) I bet that is going to be popular this year as well.... And last but not least when are we going to get Alternative fuels and Alternative fueled vehicles into this country (or are they already here)?
Tell me what you are going to do this summer.

The real story here is not about gas prices.Sure, that affects everyone somewhat, but let's face it most gasoline use is discretionary and savings are possible by trip consolidation.
The real issue is the price of diesel fuel,it is as expensive as gas, costs half as much to produce and doubles the oil companies profits. My reasoning is simple: diesel fuel is what runs the world economy, ships, trains, trucks, electric power"in the Bahamas",all your food ,gas, clothing, everything you need travels VIA diesel powered transportation. All this hype about gas is a smoke and mirrors tactic on behalf of the oil companies to hide the real issue. The oil companies now have a stranglehold on the global economy and there is not a politician,American or Bahamian that will do a damn thing about it.
Meanwhile, people being people are thinking about their day to day business, not paying attention to the real issue here, global inflation, caused by the oil companies.:hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I am so excited i am praying that it hits $10 a gallon, and you should to. Some where some one fooled you into thinking that cars and society can only run on oil and its derrivates. But if you knew history you would realize that brazil solved this problem 30 years ago.
This is what the block heads Uncle Yoric brown, CG, Rory and Tadduffy along with casual obsever all ways miss. History has the answer.
Now is the time to make the switch to alternative fuel, you can do it individually or as a nation.
It should be mandatory to learn the history of Japan, here is a nation that went from a aggrian society to a industrial society over night, and check this out they have very little natural resources. Lets take a page out of their book shall we instead of aping europe as good colonist/neocolonist.
Now is the time for alternative fuel, use your brain you dont have to be a rocket scientest to convert your vechical over all you need is common sense, a belief in your ability to do so, and a will to succeed, that in essesence is all the japanese had, along with an in tact culture but i am working on the culture bit and its coming.
garnelleo 04-26-06, - 07:38 AM Maybe we should look at Ethanol Fuel. Its clean, and can be made from corn, sugar cane and a heap of other stuff.

Ethanol has been blended with gasoline in the US for years. There are problems associated with burning pure ethanol"such as lack of power, fuel line deterioration, premature exhaust failure, poor fuel mileage, fuel tank incompatability and the propensity of alcohol to absorb moisture" none of which can't be overcome. But just dumping it in your present fuel tank will cause problems.

Blockhead?Well,I'm honored to be elevated to such lofty group.Just so you may add this to your praxis of moronism data base;
This particular subject is my field of expertise, one that I hold 3 US patents in.
All-fuel vehicles,an industry term, "yes ethanol as well" were developed by the US military in the mid 1930's. So,next time you talk to Brazil, tell them. And while you're at it tell the Japanese to straighten out their history as well. General Douglas Mc Arthur not only designed their form of government, but their banking and industrial base as well. You look so good with your foot in your super intelligent mouth! :) :) :) :) :)
BTW/ a lot of real estate is required to produce a gallon of Ethanol and a lot of food is sacrificed in the process.Any brilliant ideas where to substitute those resourses?
