Victimization has no place in this modern Bahamas. Mr. Perry Christie has demonstrated to some degree that he means it when he says he will not tolerate victimization. If he lives up to this promise he will solidify a lot of support. If he does not he will die on that promise.

Mr. Christie is at a point in life where he should keep an eye on history. Someone with children does not want to do things that will create a stain his family's name for generations. He does not want his children being accosted all over the world because of his actions or inactions. Only greatness for the nation and himself should motivate Mr. Christie now.

Mr. Christie must remember the lessons of history. Often times an administration may appear corrupt if key members of that administration do corrupt things. Good men do not keep bad company. If you walk like a duck, talk like a duck, and are found in the company of ducks - you get shot like a duck!

The majority of us are hoping, wishing, praying that Mr. Christie and his team do well. He has it in his hands to do well. Mr. Christie can be the Ronald Reagan of the Bahamas. He has to put in place a system that will eliminate corruption in government - of course this system must be ever evolving; he must put in place a system that eleiminates victimization and gives victims some recourse; and he should continue on his course of putting Bahamian wishes and interests first.

The steps taken at BAIC are positive. Steps must also be taken to stop the victimization in the Family Islands with regard to contracts. A system should be put in place that rationalizes how contracts are awarded. All contracts that are available and awarded should be put on a website so nothing is done in the dark.

Mother Pratt and the other preachers in the Bahamas need to speak out against victimization. Bishop Niel Ellis and Bishop Sam Greene should be heard on the topic of victimization. Bishop Drexel Gomez needs to be more than quiet on victimization. Where are the men and women of God when the people of God are being trampled on? Is there no Moses among them? Does Myles Munroe have nothing to say on this subject?

Where are the human rights people who have something to say about everything? Surely they have some ideas how the indignities of victimization can be cured. I am sure Fred Mitchell and Fred Smith have views. Surely Minister Bradley Roberts will not tolerate victimization. Where are they when they are needed?

I surely would like to hear Brent Symonette speak out on victimization. The FNM should send investigative teams to the various islands to check out and document the claims of victimization. Let the facts be heard!

I believe the majority of Bahamian people realize the poitical futility of victimization. We cannot be intimidated anymore. Even if we lose, we will fight back and fight viciously. Also, when we victimize, we cannot help but victimize our supporters, our friends or friends and families of our supporters. This spells negative influence and eventually the indignity of being removed from office.

The reason Tennyson Wells is so popular in his constituency and generally in the country is that he is approachable by persons of any political pursuasion. His word is his bond. His ego is such that he does not require anyone subordinating themselves to him. He apreciates people with different viewpoints and wins the opposition over with honey.

The bottom line is leaders need support. In the end, you cannot force people to support you! If you victimize someone, you are guranteed opposition; and strong opposition! So let's fix the Bahamas. After one week of celebration, let's forget the political labels and adopt the label, "Bahamian".

Bahamians are finally standing up for their rights.

A woman is suing because she feels she has been victimized. This will shine a light on the ugly behaviour and will also challenge the judiciary. Mr. Christie has allowed this thing to go too far. He should have stopped it fully when it started. Now we have a monster to contend with.

Mr. Christie's leadership is on the downslide. If he isn't rescued soon, his page in history will be very dim. Hw needs to stand firmly behind his talk. He needs to stop the victimization! Permanently!

Cronyism is a form of victimization. It abuses the public purse and disenfranchises deserving people of opportunities.

In his latest mistake; the appointment of George Smith as head of the Hotel Corporation, Mr. Christie has victimized many competent, deserving, loyal PLPs. Mr. Christie Claims that Mr. Smith deserves another chance. This may be true. But others deserve a first chance! How is it that we get around to Mr. Smith again and other PLPs have yet to have a first opportunity to show they are capable of leading? Mr. Christie is victimizing his own party members and the taxpayers.

Mr. Christie is also victimizing the culture of our nation. What message is Mr. Christie sending to the young people? Is he telling them it is okay to accept jewels from a notorious drug dealer? Is he telling them it is okay to accept a high-priced car from drug dealers and then avoid paying customs taxes on it? Is he in conflict with the message the Minister of Education was trying to send the other day when he was talking about the high priced designer clothes school children have? Are the school children not emulating Mr. Smith who Mr. Christie is holding up as an example?

This decision will be remembered as one of the worst decisions Mr. Christie ever made in his reign. We are setting up a website - primeministerbahamas.com to revue our prime ministers' so the public will have access to all the good and all the bad they do. Victimization in all its forms must stop! Our leaders must govern for all the people!

Lo and behold, V. Alfred Gray told the populace in South Andros in no uncertain terms to "grow up", forgo victimization, be accountable for the money entrusted to them via local government, and once the elections were finished forget PLP and FNM - there is only Bahamian!

Alfred Gray took a giant step towards becoming a statesman with those words. If he continues on the track he is on I look forward to recommending Alfred Gray to the heroes committee so we can erect a giant statue of him in Freedom Park.

Alfred Gray has matured politically. I am really proud to see so many elements of the PLP clearly reject victimization. This could be a really good time in the Bahamas if our leaders focus on doing the right things, sending the right message.

But we must not be fooled! Words alone will not do. Concrete actions must follow!

A very old PLP man from Conch Sound, North Andros, suggested companies be formed to hold the bussing contracts so that when governments change there would be no victimization using bus contracts. This, I believe, is a good idea. The entire community can have shares in the bus company. Even the old PLPs realize that governments in the Bahamas can, do, and will change. The real competition now should be for historical bragging rights about which party has advanced the Bahamian people and country most.

In the meantime, we should watch Alfred Gray. He has a future as a national leader.

I guess you and many Bahamians see it so differently. V. Alfred Grey is a national disgrace. ALl you need to do is asked many young Bahamian ladies who he put questioned to.

The people of MICAL totally disagree with you, but time will tell.

About Mr. Christie, recall when he came to office he allowed Sidney Stubbs to fire people. True he made then go back to work. BUT the public may not be aware that several months later, he let four more go from BAIC. Perry Christie and V. ALfred Grey and Leslie Milller are PLP Old School and they cannot help themselves.

Even though I disagree with victimization in a way,a new goverment cannot come to power, and not put it's people in place, this is done all over the world, and to run an effecitve goverment you must have people who agree with your style of governance,If Bahamains want to call it victimization so be it how silly can we be! If you are a PLP then put your people who can do the job in place same with the FNM we must get out of the cry about Victimization about everything Do what you must Christie The FNM CDR and who ever else will do the same:realmad:

Ain no way you talking about V.Alfred Gray, the man who helped to make a mockery of the Local Government System in Freeport. He went on national radio and t.v announcing that he will dissolve local government. As a lawyer, he should have read the Local Government Act. He has a very big ego and acts as if he is Gods gift to woman, he needs to change his pompus attitude. Have you forgotten the Korean Boat scandal, the $1,200.00 paid only to City of Freeport Council employees, bussing contracts all over the Bahamas, what about the rest of Local Government employees in the Bahamas. Do your research before you utter such foolishness! Bear in mind he won by 5 votes. TIME WILL TELL!!
