View Full Version : UBS..Why the secrecy?!?!
Alien 05-14-06, - 03:33 PM Has anyone ever tried to contact anyone at the UBS house, on East Bay street??
You can never speak to a representative, and wont even be let past the operator!
Arent all companies supposed to operate openly?
And...If you are to go into the centre, you can not get past the security!
I think something is terribly wrong there, and that should be looked into!
JMO!
:)
BAHMIA 05-14-06, - 04:12 PM They're a private bank aren't they?
If they perform offshore duties, then what's your stress?
pharoah 05-14-06, - 04:16 PM I notice that myself. UBS don't even have a front desk! Like you said everything has to go through security. I had an occasion to deliver a writ of summons on UBS and found out that they dont have a receptionist per say. I had to inform the security officer that i was delivering a summons!
Their lawyer eventually came down and i serve her.The security guard does not work for UBS so i could not serve them.
They are a registered trust and should have a front desk. I understand the need for security but one should be able to deliver legal document to them without having to call the office! It same some what strange to me. Maybe they have a legal or some other reason to do so, but I doubt it. Most trust and banking institution have a front desk or a receptionist.

UBS is a global financial services firm (http://www.ubs.com/)...maybe its a shell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_companies) company like some of the rest? this reminds me of haliburton and cayman islands...running from the taxman in your country to carry on nefariously in someone else's backyard...Im not saying that this is the case...YK good on you for being so observant!

Bahamia wants to think they are "ok"...
LOL....
Look, if they are open and clean, one should be able to call and inquire on anything.
Pharoah came with a summons, God knows for what...and he could not serve a summons properly. Yet, when the representative comes down it is the office goon "lawyer".
Sounds like UBS is an accident waiting to happen. They are Swiss based, and they maybe up to no good.
JMO!

they also have a strong presence in the US market and its a pretty prestigious company...come on YK that's not fair to imply that the Swiss are always up to no good...

You ever see...
Like it is some weird Horror movie or something. Where there is actually no one there, and all of the employees have never seen the office boss. And when you finally build up the nerve to storm the office, you find an empty chair in front of an empty desk with a tape recorder with nothing on it other than a collage of meaningless replies and comments!
LOL....
Totally weird!

I was waiting for pharoah to share.
But he may not know exactly what was the summons about. But, the way Nassau goes, it probably was for a dead beat dad, or divorce papers!
hehehehhee

I am not at liberty to say what the summons concern specifically but suffice it to say that it involves a foreign goverment trying to catch up with a crooked goverment official undisclosed funds appropriated through bribe.
Disclaimer: The summons does not charge UBS with any crime. It was merely to forfeit the funds deposited by the corrupt official!
