Once again, we come out with a nice report(very pretty cover I might add) which was reviewed and generated by yet another commission.
If I sound a tad bit fatigued by the announcement of a new report, its probably because I am.
I think we might quite possibly have missed the mark on this one. We jumped over the fact that The AG's Office is strapped for man-power in the area of young lawyers wanting to perform a civic duty. I support the improvement of the Judiciary, but its terribly difficult to hear cases when its becoming an impossiblity to have persons in place to actually prosecute the matters. What comes first????????

I think its about time we encourage our own for these types of positions. And like Taffy implies, they have to pay these people properly! The cost of living is going up all the time and the young working people can't afford to work for a small salary not commensurate with their skills.

The people are getting tired of court cases being put off for years down down the road. People forget and some may even pass on by the time the case comes up. Personally, I'd prefer going in front of a Bahamian judge or magistrate any day as opposed to being tried by a foreigner who does not now our culture.

Isn't it strange that we wait so long to do things which should have been done 10 or 20 yrars ago!? I sure hope they take steps and implement the report and don't just file it away somewhere to catch dust!
