View Full Version : Wayne Munroe..Wrong side of Fraser!
Alien 05-18-06, - 09:50 PM Why is it that Wayne Munroe is consistently on the ethically wrong side of issues in the Bahamas?
Do we remember the Russian Strippers!?!?
Well, we all know it was morally wrong and for that matter illegal to be a prostitute. But, he found a loophole in order to get the strippers off of their prostitution wrap.
Now, Mr. Munroe is defending the Bishop of this present child molestation scandal. Good grief!
I know Mr. Munroe is a hired gun, but a quote from the movie Devil's Advocate with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves; the scene where they were riding the bus, and was discussing a big case, that may have been to big for the young Reeves to handle...Pacino turned to Reeves and said "maybe it is time for you to lose?"
:hammer:
I know you may have been offered more money by the Bishop, and will give you the benefit of the doubt that you may have very expensive tastes and a family to feed, and money bags like the Bishop are what you make and pay your student loans with. But Mr. Munroe, with all due respect, maybe it is just time that you lose this one. You may even sleep better. For that matter, I bet you wish you did lose this one, considering all of the implications.
The public will turn on you Mr. Munroe and you will become damaged goods if you get this Bishop off light.
Remember Cochran!?!?
He could not get a high profile case after OJ...He was just too damn good for his own benefit.
Now I may be comparing you to Cochran, because you appear to be one of the best Bahamian legal minds we have out there, and maybe one of the best ever. But, you will lose the public on this one and for that matter, A Bahamian public who with their heralded long memory, are getting fed up with this abuse of power with no justice for anybody.
Trust me, and mark my quote..."maybe it is time you lose one"...
By all means it is not a warning, as much as it may sound but just a second to appeal to your sense of deceny, before your sense of duty to the Law Fraternity.
:)

The OJ case wasnt the last high profile case Attorney Cochran (RIP) had...you need to get your facts right...Geronimo Pratt was finally set free...He helped Puffy...Cochran even went on to open law offices all over the continental U.S. and he died with a clean heart...
I can understand that your coming from a pure place but at the same time remember that its the lawyer's duty to defend his clients to the best of his ability....though him taking the case speaks volumes about his character, in my opinion, Fraser got him because he knows that he can win, you cant just expect him to throw this case...who will disbar him for unprofessional conduct? ...after all he is the president of the BBA!

Where does this bum gets his fact from. AND I had the pleasure of meeting the Late Great Johnny Cochran. It was a great event...., the man was so much called upon that he refused to accept cases if it was not for the public good. Enter tha name Johnny Cochran and you will see ...., his work lives on. Hw dear you smear that good man's name. Compare him to Fred Michelle whom you defend and ..., wow. Make my bllo holla.

You are right with puffy....in fact, that did mark the end of cochrans hi profile career, but OJ marked the begining of the end of his court room persona and antics. OJ was the begining of the end of the aura that was cochran.
secondly, you need to "re-read" my entire post. i am not asking for munroe to throw the case, but be happy that he will lose this one.
maybe to save his own career, he should step back..but, too late for that he has to show good.

dont insult this man's memory like this when you dont have your ducks in a row YK. He was one of the reasons why I wanted to practice. OJ was a smear on this man's legacy, and Im sure he came to terms with that. After the Puffy trial, Attorney Cochran made it known that he wasnt taking anymore high profile cases, he was simply gonna stick to civil rights cases. I think he was aware that his time here on earth was drawing nigh and he wanted to leave with a pure heart. Bahamian lawyers should take a queue from him.
As for Munroe, I really dont care. But I will say that itll be b/c of that "corruption machine" that pastor gets away with this...and I will be very surprised if indeed it is. We need to show that our judicial system works for all Bahamians, not just the moneyed. Like I said there are other mothers out there whose children were abused and molested, maybe this will give them strength to come forward and show that this isnt a closed incident.
