I disagree. On matters like this, we cannot follow the lead of the US. One thing that Bahamians are scared of is dying, which is why we don't skydive, bungee jump, shark dive or do any of those other "dangerous" things that some people in the US do.
If we start hanging again, it is guaranteed that these boys will stop freaking out. It's so shortsighted to base our death penalty decisions on US studies. The US is a different cultural environment than ours. Death to us means a completely different thing culturally.
We need to stop taking these US based approaches to certain things, like discipline and punishment. Our culture is different. Our people are different.
Enforce the death penalty swiftly in cases where there is no doubt of guilt and people will pay attention. These boys aren't scared of jail, but they are scared of being hung or whipped, I can guarantee that. It's a culture thing.

Every Bahamian is afraid of dying because our lives are so sweet. No matter what anybody tells you we live in the best country in the world and we don't wanna leave even for death.

Untill we as a nation come together and fellow our law to the T,WE WILL ALWAY HAVE THIS PROBLEM.look if its on our law books, i don't see the problem.let's get with it and stop playing.Deal with crime quickly(bible) and the problem is solve.Who don't agree with that have a problem.i still don't understand why they won't carry-out the law.an eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth.get with it and do it openly so others will see that the goverment means business.and stop playing tick tack doe with these crimals.do it now before we end up having a murder every second of the day.And by the end of the year over a thousand people are layed to rest forever.
