Not so fast, Pat Bain himself do not feel that he won that election abd it was based on the first count. What went wrong, many would like to know.

Well Harcourt Brown confirmed that he took the ballot boxes out of police custody over the weekend. Someone please explain to me WHY that needed to be done. Pure corruption cuz it wouldnt be the first time Harcourt took some green to swing stuff in the favor of Pat those....anyway.....

Sad, sad...but that seem to be the way we run every damn thing in this nation....cloak and dagger! More cloak than dagger...if the one doing the mess is ya boy! If he een ya jack....boy bring them daggers and stick this fool...becomes the cry! But saddest of all...some of us will defend that sh!t! Yall plitical animals on this site don't bother cheering or commenting in favor of those who are connected to ya party...I een interested in reading yall shed either.

The only thing that would clear my mind of this "stink" in that union is a complete re-do of the election! This here is a national crisis! I say to Mr. Bain...if ya hands are clean...step up to the plate and refuse to win in such an air of corruption and misdeeds!

I am tempted to say to hell with the whole ting...since we see the sh!t that went down...we een care...so maybe that's the way we want it! But I know that there are some good and decent people in this here Bahamas...all er we een PLP, FNM or any er them other groups...we are Bahamians! We will stand for the good of our nation!

And I tell ya...they een ga do one damn ting about it because he they boy! So I een worrying about an explaination...they just ger blow smoke up my boongy plumbing anyhow...so carry on smartly yinna crooked beaches...time will tell! :shhh:

As in the immortal words of Forest Gump: "That's all I have to say about that"!:cutie:

Well with the whole Union administration against him now I wonder if he will even survive this term. I think he should have just suceeded anyway, it will make no sence for him to stay and if the Justice team really continues to carry on the the way they have prior to the election....I don't know, I feel like I'm seeing a resignation somewhere down the line for him.

Well I'll tell you something, I am in full support of hotel union members if they chose to take some real action, because this cannot be permitted to happen in a democracy. Ballot boxes going missing from police custody and the director of labour admitting HE took the boxes! NO! These types of things are an affront to democratic ideals and principals...not to mention integrity, lawfulness and decency.

If the Bahamians rise up..Im with them..because Bahamians have seen ballot tampering and election fraud in their history before - its shouldnt be tolerated at all and anymore.

Why does it have to be tampering :dgi: Didn't both the police & the director of labour say that its his right & normally the police wouldn't even have the boxes?

I seriously doubt that he'll resign, based on what was said about the man on this board. If true he's only in it for the money, then why resign, the man is the president right?

Tampering would be assumed because:

1. The Rainbow Team lost all positions including the presidency in the first count. Pat then demanded a re-count. The unofficial results were withheld from the media Saturday, until Harcourt Brown decides to release them - ONLY TO ZNS - who then reported that Pat's Team was victorious. Since Harcourt had the boxes and it was his right to have them, why were the unofficial results withheld?

2. Speaking to shop stewards, they said there was evidence that ballots had been tampered with.

3. And pardon those people of color who will take offense at this one, but Leo Douglas (the general secretary who retained his seat along with Pat), did what black folk always do when they do some greasy crap - they TALK on themselves.

Leo Douglas is gonna have the "pimp on myself" nerve to tell the Journal that all of the other union posts that got wiped out are figure-head posts and insiginificant posts anyway, and that only his and Pat's office matters in the Union. Then, in the face of all of the obvious problems he and Pat would have since they dont enjoy the support of most of the members or the new team elect for that matter, he is gonna say "Im glad I beat my opponent by 4 votes, cuz when you beat a man by a little bit of votes it hurts them more."

Playa...tell me why you couldnt keep a poker face eh? You just showed me that no matter what, you and Pat was gonna make sure yinna seat was secure

you know I truly believe this will be the saving grace of our nation...when the gravitas of the Bahamas get together form an alliance and demand integrity and professionalism in our country...because honestly we cant last another 5 years like this...the environmental degradation, speding what we dont have yet (the budget deficits and accelerating national debt) im so not impressed with some of the FNM camp, I dont like the anchor developments and the land giveaways, I despise that christian nation doublespeak when our attitude towards each shows anything but. Im ready for us to be the best little nation we can be...then really give the haters something to talk about...

Could be true, but it will still be a rocky ride. One thing it wont be too much of a productive term.
