I think your going off topic a bit. My point is if Bush pushes this through, it will make it all the more difficult for it to be accepted in the bahamas. Harper is also attempting to re-open this issue. Whether Bush is a good prez or not, if this law is passed, then Vickys agenda will be harder to obtain.

No I believe that he is certainly not gay friendly (its ok im not Bush friendly). But he does not want a constitutional amendment. For whatever purposes or reasons or advisors who have correctly gotten to him and told him that changing the constitution to target the gay population would be an historical and monumental mistake. And shockingly enough to me....Bush has decided not to throw his support behind the amendment. Of course he still proposed it.....but to those in the know.....this is simply lip service to his core support base. Still despicable in my book.....but the amendment wont succeed and Bush himself is not looking for it to succeed. There is a difference between saying something and believing it. For example: Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq.

It was used to get elected and he had to follow through. But he knows he needs the GLBT vote if he want to make a come back for his party.
