Signaling the favourable economic conditions that are expected to support the government's ambitious revenue collections for fiscal year 2006/2007, Prime Minister Perry Christie revealed on Wednesday that the Bahamian economy is expected to grow by an unprecedented 6.5 percent during that period.

These aren't his claims alone, the growth projections are actually the projections of The IMF. And as far as believing him, Standard and Poors and Moody's believe him and they believe The IMF. Many on this board (perhaps even yourself) won't believe him because Hubert Ingraham will tell them not to, and that will be good enough for them.
Never mind the fact that the projections are actually the projections of The IMF (maybe they are PLP over at The IMF).
Never mind the fact that every major investment rating service in the world is excited by the prospects of our little nation.
The only thing that will matter to them is their devotion to Hubert Ingraham and The FNM and their hatred for Perry Christie and The PLP. And we all know that carries more weight than all the facts and independent corroboration in the world.

I think its sadistic that perry announces these allusions of granduer and he's doing anything but "transforming prosperity...growth ween neva see" mumbo jumbo...lord knows I have to laugh to keep from crying...
