Cable Bahamas REALLY needs to get it together with their service since they switched to their "wonderful" new digital service. Either stations are blacked out, or they clip in and out, or as has happened tonite..CNN gone on vacation mussy..cuz it wasnt on 34 where I left it!!!

I don't mind payin'for what I get but I sure do hate not gettin' wa I payin' for.

I think that this topic is oh sooooooo timely! This morning one of my staff members came on the job in such a huff I thought that maybe he was one er them CDR people who got totally wrecked between the FNM and PLP parties! The FNM finally gooseing them big time over the weekend!

By that this time I was thinking…”this cat needs to go home before he run all the customers outta here”! What’s the matter with you…you need to go back home or what?

“That damn Cable Bahamas…when somebody ger step up to the plate and stop them from crappin all over the Bahamian people and exploiting them every time they feel like it”?

"They done gone change my contract when they told me that if I don’t get their new set-top box, my services ger soon be cut off”! “And I een owe them @@#$5”! “ How they could do that to me if I had a contract with them…they just told me that if I don’t give them $99, fer the new service, they ger cut my service off fer that”! “Man, when the poor people ger get relief from that customer services nightmare place”? “ What ger happen to those poor people who een gat the $99 to change over to the new service”?

“Ya know! I decided to get the new set-top box…and went down on Robinson Road there. After I turned in the old box with the old remote control device, they took them both and only give me back the set-top box without the remote control”!

“When I asked the woman fer the remote control…she ger now tell me that I have to buy the new remote control separate from the new set-top box”!

By this time I was thinking about how we could best addressed the problem…clearly, there must be some mistake, I thought...[inside I was saying: cheap bastid...ya een wan pay the $99 er?]! Everybody knows that set-top boxes come with standard remote control devices…hell everything comes with one these days! So I contacted CB myself.

And by damn…he was right…CB told me ya can’t get a remote with ya new set-top box! And get this…”these new boxes don’t come with remotes”!

I said…”ma gal…don’t try that shed…all set-top boxes come with its standard remote control device”. She replied: “ I know that, but we don’t give them out with the new boxes, ya have to buy them separately”! I asked, “what he suppose to do in the mean time…use the old remote”? She went on: “yes…but them old remotes een ger work fer very long and he will have to buy the new one to get the new service”!

At this point I realized that this smells like another scheme in the making to bilk more money (hundreds of thousands) outta the poor people…when the old remotes don’t work anymore, they ger have to buy those remotes devices that were supposed to come(standard) with the new set-top boxes they have already paid for! By this time, them people at CB talked so much azz round my head bout how them new remotes are separated from the new set-top boxes, I wanted to go home ma sef.

I think that Cable Bahamas really need to address that shed...cause when I get there to change my old set-top box...ALL HELL GER BROKE LOOSE UP IN THAT PLACE...IF THEY SAY THAT I MUST BUY MY OWN REMOTE BACK FROM THEM...CAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THEM THINGS COME WITH STANDARD REMOTES...HELL THE SALES GIRL TOLD ME THE NEW BOXES CAME WITH REMOTES!:cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cutie:

will a universal remote work with the new box? my thing is that if this is something new they implemented, we(the customer) shouldnt have to fund the cost of something they wanted to do...it should be optional....

...we need to look at the contract cable Bahamas has with the govt to see what it actually says...is there a clause to default on the 10 year monopoly if the people are shafted? maybe we have a case...some lawyer whose trying to make a name for themselves would have business for years to come...

tell your co-worker consumer protection legislation is coming, he needs to write a letter (fax, email,) to customer service and cc it to all the higher ups and cable bahamas...picket the offices (if he has time on saturady with a few other disgruntled and displeased customers), write a letter in the papers (punch and dailies) and let them know that this isnt fair...more than likely we probably could google the price of the box and the remote will come with it and it will be less than half the price it is here.

Cable Bahamas knows what its doing, I cant be mad at them, because Business is what it is...but at the same time their a monopoly entered into an agreement with the Bahamian govt to supply services to the Bahamian public and their not delivering excellent service... I know they say you get what you pay for...but this, this isnt right. you are paying and your getting subpar service......we need to look at the contract cable Bahamas has with the govt to see what it actually says...is there a clause to default on the 10 year monopoly if the people are shafted? maybe we have a case...some lawyer whose trying to make a name for themselves would have business for years to come...one class action law suit "the customers vs. Cable Bahamas" and you wont hear about this ever again...The Bahamas is a democracy lets show them we mean business!
