Auto's R Us is a horrible car company.
They are over priced, and are lying to most of their buyers.

My wife bought 97 Windom from them a while back, and the issues she had getting it and the car trouble she had after it is absolutely un-believable.

First off, they only licensed the car for two months, and my wife had to be notified of that at a traffic stop that her car, which she had for about 5 months had an expired license sticker. Why would they allow someone to pay for a year license, but only license it for two month's is beyond me, but it is one of the very filthy things they have done. Plus, we had bought the car a full two weeks before we actually had the car…they held it up for God knows what, and had our money without us having a car. Business houses should release on demand, we felt robbed and that they possibly sabotaged the car, because they sure did not fix anything on it, as we are experiencing trouble with it to this day

Second, the car is always cutting off. It is only about 5 months bought, and it has been cutting off in traffic when it idles too long, as well as when you do not give it the kind of gas pressure it needs to stay running. No car new or used should act like that. On top of all of that, we had to take the car to a mechanic to have the CV joints replaced and to have the power window’s repaired, which was not noted at the time of purchase

Third, the AC is always cutting in and out. On hot day's, the AC does not work period. It only blows hot air, and that is most irritating in the summer heat of the Bahamas.

Fourth, the staff is very rude...Mrs. Dunkley is the liaison between furniture plus and Auto's R Us. She is particular is always uncooperative, as well as rude and never able to go the extra mile to help a car buyer. Every issue with the car we brought to their attention, we were held up and twirled around like school children…they acted like we did not just spend out hard earned money. Conveniently she was very rude AFTER she had my wife's money. The staff is incompetent to boot, and to be honest should not even work selling fast food, much less over priced cars.

This company is a terrible car dealership, and deserves to be boycotted by every Bahamian on this Island. Please do not fall for their salary deduct scheme, as they prey on desperate or in debt persons or families, in order to push their shoddy used car's on.

I personally wish they shut down, and never sell another car again. Just when I thought it was just me and my wife, an acquaintance of mine said she had her Windom for about 6 months, before she had to park it due to transmission trouble. So she owes the car company, plus out of a car.

Auto's R Us and Furniture plus...ARE THE WORSE CAR COMPANIES IN THE BAHAMAS!!!
STAY AWAY!

My wife and myself feel robbed and cheated. Very very over priced cars.
We will go to the dailies and the consumer advocacy department if there is such a thing!

you poor thing...you could have put a down payment on a house with that money your throwing away...youll be paying for the car forever!and the sad thing is you probably couldnt even get $18 for that if you were to sell it!

the banks in the country are a rip-off this wouldnt fly anywhere else...banks would be sued...so much needs to happen though...from changing the tax system so if you wanted to bring a car in it wouldnt be so expensive to hemming these banks up and making them respect and giving the customers a better, fairer deal..what they have going on is highway robbery...you lost before you even made your first payment...the small man always loses...

thanks .. yep ive been scarred and will never get another loan from a bank .. .. it was just so easy to get the loan, i mean they litteraly throw the loans at yah .. it was used for a work vehicle so i couldnt get half that price you mentioned, without some body and interior work .. im screwed if i sell it and screwed if I dont .. so just gotta keep paying and eating hotdogs and cheese n' crackers for now .. :-(

they took it before, but several months later after they couldnt sell it, they made another deal with me .. hey i needed something to drive .. ;-) What i really hate is the letters i get from them, the agents arent man enough (or woman) to print their names so they sign it in scribble ... then they keep changing agents .. i mean ive dealt with at least a hundred since i got the jeep .. its a horrible experience .. and that $700 a month isnt any fun .

They should be glad they have been getting paid, since i havent had a real job or income in 5 years! LOL .. but seriously, if they take it this time .. i hope they dont expect anymore payment on it .. :sailing: how's one to pay for something with that other thing they cant get if one doesnt have that something to go get that other thing .. its all about the benjamins .. or the other people we have on the $$ here .. :)

Anyway, so goes life .. could be alot worse ..

done gone crazy .. $40 gas between the day before yesterday and today and i only been a couple close places around palmdale etc .. that coupled with the cost of food (well i been tryin to cook but City Meat Village Road has no decent food) .. gotta try shop somewhere else and like first thing in the AM i guess ( normally working all night long writing software .. just sample code and new stuff im messing with related to LANs and Wans).. Esso on the run prices are crazy .. then even fried food places think they selling gourmet food these days .. eg. Bamboo Shack .. $8 for deep fried 3rd party conch with breaded batter and frozen fries .. lawd people gawn crazy in this town .. one deli even tried to charge us $1 extra for lettuce and tomato on a sandwich that already cost $6 .. so much for eating healthy ..

my pricing gone down while everyone elses gone up .. Hotdog for lunch tomorrow .. have to skip breakfast also to make up .. then there's the gas issue again .. lawd .. know what its like putting $5 in a 4.0, 6 Litre Jeep just to get somewhere for food ... anyway .. might actually go look for a job at atlantis .. I got a contact there high up that sais they need some security techs .. course with that .. bang goes all the 48 hour days I spent learning what I know now for the past 5 years .. i think 5 .. actually its more like 8 years, but it went downhill from 2001 .. then the american company has been playing me on the software .. thats another seperate story . . also knowing people in (so called) high places doesnt really mean too much these days, cause they are normally to busy to help yah get business ..and they dont need the money (commission)

Thing with life is, you cant always do what you love to do, and make a living ... i even did try the online store thing but way too many obstacles living here in the Bahamas .. for some reason not many (if any) credict card merchant companies want to deal with a business in the Bahamas .. at least when it comes to hardware .. I believe we applied to at least 10 of them (me and a local large security business) .. all international related merchants that claim to approve anyone .. //

anyways .. so goes life .. new alarm systems im pushing might pay off .. selling them installed inexpensive .. see visonic.com and look for the PowerMax Pro. Selling them as preprogrammed DIY's as well .. they can call your cell, page, land line without any monitoring company needed .. or can be monitored ..completely wireless ..

Bottom line .. commonwealth only wants to know when that previous payment is coming or they coming for the vehicle ... and the nasty letter i just got from them .. well .. they'll get paid when some dollars come in, but in the meantime they can still kiss my ...:sailing:

About Truth Hurts...I have had problems with and heard other problems about Auto's R Us and Furniture plus.
To me, they are a horrible company and quite frankly I do not know how they stayed in business so long.
They take long to bring your stuff...and now they are selling sh*t automobiles.
Someone needs to look into them.

The best bet when buying a used car from anybody is to have your mechanic look it over, or have a friend that is knowledgeable about cars give it the “once over.” My niece was buying a used car a few years ago. Thank goodness she called me to have a look at it before she put her money down! There was water in the oil!!! (A bad sign and an expensive fix - sometimes requiring a new engine.) We went through six cars before we found one that was OK - mind you, used cars are never totally OK but you can live with some problems. Her car is still running well and has not had a problem.
......and it has been cutting off in traffic when it idles too long, as well as when you do not give it the kind of gas pressure it needs to stay running....
The idle needs adjusting or the idle screw is faulty, the timing belt is off, or slipping.

Third, the AC is always cutting in and out. On hot day's, the AC does not work period. It only blows hot air, and that is most irritating in the summer heat of the Bahamas.
You could have a leak in the system or the “thermostat” is broken, or the belt is slipping

lol..thats only if you want a loan for an item that depreciates as soon as its driven off the lot, or for stuff that cant be considered as assets or collateral.

But let you try to be about something and try to get a loan for a business, a house, some commercial property, etc..you'll see how quickly the floodgates close on ya!:sparky:
