oh boy ... time to stay indoors at night ...
12play 06-14-06, - 07:46 AM I live in Exuma where they say the outbreak has occured. There are a lot of Haitians living in bushes around George Town.I was told that some of the Haitians found one of their colleagues dead and dumped the body in a nearby pond. This stuff is serious.I was chased indooors by mosquitos this morning. The ministry of health is lying about the mosquito infestation being low. What the falk does that mean anyway? What is low or high? The department of environmental health is trying, but driving along the queen's hwy in an S10 truck spraying is not effective. We need an airplane that can be deployed anywhere in the bahamas to spray for mosquitoes. Our idiot leaders are bragging that there are no new taxes in the budget. How are we going to pay for the things that the country needs if the government does not tax its people. We can afford the taxes man! Stop falking around! They are also bragging that Exuma has more than 32,000 visitor arrivals now. Will they still be bragging when these 32,000 visitors and the 6,000+ residents of Exuma are 'loaded' with Malaria!?
Check out http://www.bahamasissues.com/showthread.php?p=58908#post58908 we already have a thing going there about malaria - but we have drifted a bit into garlic and parsley!!!:)

You are right..this stuff is serious indeed..and it goes back to what I said in the other thread we started yesterday on this issue...there are likely other people with the disease in Exuma who health officials dont know about yet..

bahamiangoddess 06-14-06, - 06:10 PM Just got back from a two weeks vacation in North Andros and I swear the mosquito down there have bones, called Environmental Health Department and was told that the fogging machine has broken down (AGAIN). I think they are waiting for an outbreak. It rained almost every day last week and Andros has a lot of swamp land, so there is a lot of settled water everywhere. I hope they don't wait until regatta time in July like they usually do.
If environmental health are the same morons that are responsible for governing businesses that sell food in the Bahamas, then I wouldnt count on them for anything ..

Take your off, baygon and some mosquito coil. (NO JOKE) The baygon kills the mosquito and the coils kills the sunfly. Those little suckers gat a big bite. Where ever your're staying keep the doors and windows closed, I also would advise you to spray and light your coil an hour before turning in, limit your outdoors activities after dark. I think they are immune to OFF. No cologne or sweet body lotions in the night, it attracts them.
