Geez .. its been really slow lately, thought it was just something between us and other servers .. anyway, looks like it is Coralwave .. ii just did some tests and im getting 400k highest speed, average is around 200 .. i think with basic we are supposed to get like 1800 .. no wonder its been so slow .. darnit!!

They've been known to fluctuate recently with their service. Over the past 3-4 months the service has been variable, with a few weeks in each month that the connection speed was slow. I usually play CS:S online, and I couldn't find a server under 260 ping. :confused:

I just tested my speed. It was 750.3 Kbps.

i haven't noticed any slow downs pm garnel :)

Im streaming video and making winsock apps so i really notice the difference .. anyway just did another check ..

well the slow speeds arent caused by the outages. The servers are all on generators with backup generators.

Power outages will cause an internet outage in your area as long as the power is out(so if you have a genrator cable tv and internet may be down). Power outages may also damage the modem.

I always unplug mine when the power goes out. The power going off is bad enough but when it comes back on it can get a surge! :sparky:

Surge Protectors are useless .. i hope they know that .. AVR is what they need .. and yeah they can still get damaged equipment ..they probably arent protecting it properly .. they need to remember THIS ISNT CANADA!!!

BTW Generators are old school .. I hope they are doing it the RIGHT way ..
