well 1/2 and 1/2 it all boils down to this. as i have said over and over we have been programed to believe in this god that it has made people very delusional. they hold onto it, they wanna be pastors and deacons and sunday school teachers but still wanna live their life opposite to the teachings of the bible out of fear of going to hell.
i have a friend who i sat down and told him of my knew revalations concerning relgion and god. he got very upset with me and told me i was going to hell. i responded is it not u who ask me to download and burn porn for u, is it not u who go clubbin every weekend trying to drag me along (bahmaboy dont club yall), is it not u who b drunk callin me every other week talkin bout pick me up, i dont know where i am. is it not u whos car u can hear from a block away and he dont b bumbin christian music. out of the fear of going to hell he does all these things but attends church and would describe himself as christian, i dont know how he does it with a hang over. I reminded him that the bible he believes in says, either you are with him or against him. no man can serve two masters. by the teaching of his religion he is bound for hell anyway so either get for real or let it go.
my point of that story is becuase the bahamas is dipped in religion, especially that fire and brimbstone teaching (i am not advocating that it stops, but how much is enough. churches on every corner, prohets in the streets screamin at u with bull horns. i never meet a bahamian woman who didnt say whoa jesus as a figure of speach) people who grow up in this enviroment will try to put on that front or should i say forced to put on a front (pastor, good upstanding christian) in hopes to fool god and the people around and try to fool themselves that they are not going to hell even though who they really are is a person that want to molest kids, or club, or like to swing. In the end they only make themselves look bad and the religion they ascribed to bad.
I am not trying to bash christianity, or churches or pastors. the point of this post is to bring to light the pyschological effects these types of enviroments bring on people and what happens when people do not seek their own truth. THE TRUTH SHALL SET U FREE.
