So, we getting more tourism projects!
Govenment already voiced their concern that Bahamians may lack the skills necessary to fulfil these jobs. It is suggested that there may be more jobs than what the Bahamaian populace can handle. Perhaps, there may need to be a mass exodus of persons from Nassau to fulfil this island jobs. That's if Nassau people them want move. If they don't, then dog eat our lunch because we will be providing jobs only for Haitian, Jamaicans and other emmigrants, not for Bahamians. Nevertheles, I want to know what type of skills the PM charging we Bahamians to get qualify on. The job he creating are maids and bussers right, what type of skills do I need to possess to have that. That sounds like on the job experience to me?

First off I know they're looking for alot of technical people.Problem is the qualifications & experience they're asking for, the Bahamians who meet their criteria are already employed & won't leave a secure job to play second fiddle to someone with no knowledge except the color off his/her skin.

So I guess we can argue that, the PLP creating jobs that average Bahamians can not comepete with foreigners on.
LOL...
Trust me...there will be something that the FNM crew here will be on.

Dn't know that the PLP are creating these jobs ya know. The way I see it is yes they may have assisted by providing the land, but buddy those still have to put their on funds on the line.Unless the PLP's doing the same thing the FNM did and backed loans by private entities.

Funny you said that. I was talking to my sister just yesterday and I was saying that the government was attracting these projects in the Family Islands to try and get people to move back. My sister laughed and aske me if I really thought Nassau people would leave Nassau? We agreed that they would not leave.

Some people are afraid of change. Can't say that I blame them though, cause none of these projects are reallly thought out.God help you if you have a major medical emergency on Exuma & all these other projects are running along the same line.

Does the four season have a hellicopter to fly people out in case of emergency....I can't imagine mega millions not having access to a general hospital...a clinic just don't cut it....

Actually many people would leave. If you are young, single and living with family or renting you may as well leave. If you have nothing tying you to Nassau and your encestral home has new opportunities opening for you take advantage of it. And Nassuvians love the family islands too.

But yet we want to praise certain peeps as visionary leaders of the Bahamian people and bring them back to run we lil country, when they couldn't even run a mom & pop store properly.Ask the present admin whats their 20 yr vision for the family islands & see what you'll get.:shhh:

True! These Governments never think ahead. I mean look at Nassau, which is prime example of not planning ahead! At least they could make an attempt at not making the same mistakes in the Family Islands! It would be silly if they do not at least use the private-public partnership to the fullest extent to build stuff like Hospitals, Better housing, proper road networks and the like.
