and this the same govt that lambasted the fnm administration for allowing 20 cubans vanished out of fox hill and now they cant stop cubans from breaking out of the detention center? perry need to pull out his fork, knife and a bib and begin eating his own words because too much "talk" and his side dish of "no action" is spilling out of his plate and on the table and its creating a mess!

The government is not worried for a reason! After being critical of Mother Pratt's appearent lack of concern with the recent breakout I believe that her response is another example of her lack of politcal acumen and savy.

I believe the PLP government has decided that the best way to avoid further poltical rift with anti-cuban, and pro-refugee US legislatures is to turn there back on Cuban detainee escapes. Mother Pratt just wasn't suppose to give that away in her reponse.

If the Cubans aren't here they are not our problem is there thinking. From the PLP view this is a win win win win situation...they don't have to pay to detain the Cubans and risk being watched by human rights groups, the Cubans are not trying to stay in Nassau anyway, we are not mentioned on the front page of the Miami Herald, and finally we don't have to adhere to our Bahamas Cuba diplomatic arrangements.

It's a rather sissy way of doing things but in reality the net effect on the general population is not that dramatic. Most Bahamians don't really care although if they were Haitians escaping there would be more of an uparoar. The only organisation left looking corrupt and inept are the Defense Force and well the government has decided to take that one on the chin.

The problem is when you have someone like Mother pratt in on the game you take a chance because she has a history of mishandling political tactics like this one.

This time she sounded way to loose on the subject at first I was aghast but then as I said I think she just goofed this one up. She was supposed to simply downplay it not make it sound as if we are neither against or for the breakouts....if I am wrong then she must be really tired of her job and just doesn't give a dam. Alas a great grassroots leader has truly gone over to the politcal dark side.

How long does it take to snip through TWO perimeter fences? Somebody had to know what was going down!:eek: damn if you see three or more Cubans hanging out near the fence something gatta click in ya brain!:hammer:
