View Full Version : Re-Naming NIA...
nationbuilder 07-01-06, - 04:04 PM DEEPLY SKEWED POLITICS ASIDE PLEASE....what do you all feel about the re-naming of NIA to the Sir Lynden O Pindling airport? I know there are views out there that it isnt a good idea to re-name the country's main port of entry to a name that internationally is associated with drugs and governmental corruption, etc...
While other opinions say its really not an honor to him to put his name on an airport in such disrepair...
What are yall views?

I dont have no issue with naming the airport after Sir lynden. We must render honor where it is due. Sir lynden had a very dark side but all in all i think his good out weigh his bad.
By the way they should have atleast fix up the damn airport. In many respects it is some what dispectful to put his name on such a decrepit building!

And what? Create an airport marching band?
I could care lees just let the private company take the airport out of the misery of government management!
BahamaWave 07-01-06, - 04:47 PM Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling Int'l. Airport. or The SLOP Int'l. Airport. lol. maybe the name applies considering the current run-down state of the airport. lol.
But seriously...I've met Sir Lynden many times and have worked with him on his television biography. one on one he's a great guy, a wonderful person, with a wealth of knowledge and a terrific sense of humour. a real down to earth type of fellow.
chancellor 07-01-06, - 04:51 PM It seem it will be Lynden Pindling International and not the whole thing, as I think the former is too long, and people might still call it NIA after all this is over.

well of course put a marching band. And then take pictures of the airport, and put it in the paper.
:hammer:
Get Kieth Bell on the tube talking about the amount of child rapes at the airport..with Neil Ellis and David Allen standing right aside him.
LOL...
It will be fantastic!
:)
BahamaWave 07-01-06, - 05:10 PM once a person has been knighted the title 'Sir' should always be used and never dropped. also it is correct to say just 'Sir Lynden' without having to add the Pindling. the same applies to the wife of a knight. his wife is 'Lady Margurite' not Lady Pindling. like Lady Diana or Lady Caroline wife of Sir Milo, not Lady Butler.

Sad thing is few people knows that...not even the politicians or the newspersons...
they also give the title of honourable to every and every one...without knowing how someone gets the title...
its a shame...seems as too many of us dumb on such topics
