Tafadhali 07-03-06, - 10:15 PM disenfranchised Bahamians...just shameful...shameful...
nationbuilder 07-03-06, - 10:51 PM I'm surprised (well then again maybe Im not) that the media took this long to get wind of land issues in that area. It was one of the matters that held up development there in the first place: in that land developers wanted belongs to Bahamians and has for many many years.

well Im aware of the judge and her "side activites" by what I dont get is why she sided with the "developers...nevermind...its like this country is for everyone but average Bahamians! and I wonder who are the names and faces behind LANDCO and why havent they shown their unscrupulous rogue and guttersnipe selves?
chancellor 07-03-06, - 10:59 PM When I went home we had to see this "Ginn" for ourselves. Man they cleared all that land already....and the thing is they are not done yet! There are some people they still want to buy from. infact Ginn owns the properties around these people and have cleared the bush around them. Everyone who lives on the southern side of the "back road" is facing whether or not to sell out. And that's a good number of people, It's like they have half of West End. That's a huge project.

Apparently we have no say, neither us nor our local govenments. Not enought are aware of the effects. Ask some people and they are still thinking jobs....not matter how menial and how much of a marginalized class it will make them look.

Yup your are right. And when they raise the land with 8 feet of fill because their land is primarily swamp land..flooding issues for west grand bahama will be too potent to imagine.

Yes! I am already seeing them do this too! It looks like they have already made this 8 foot wall of dirt in some areas where they will fill in and level. My god.......So West End will be systematically "washed out"

Thing is bout that is that when you go down there the people will tell you they are still anxiously awaiting the touted benefits of Ginn. Yeh Ginn has spent millions so far - on MARKETING. The people have yet to see that mula.

Before that fill west end was under 6-8 feet of water from Hurricane Frances. So imagine what will happen now.

and while were at it the title of this article was misleading...how could this be ginn land if the land in question was given as crown grants in days gone buy to the bootle clan...the article shouldve read fight over bootle land not ginn land...and the sad thing is the people wanted to develop the land but they didnt have the funds...this is where the govt shouldve stepped in and help Bahamians...because by that we ar ehelping ourselves...this could have been the first Bahamian billionaire...
but seriously ginn (pronounced ghin) knew exactly the deal before they signed the papers they didnt think the Bahamians would fight back...
this is happening all over the Bahamas... Bahamians being disenfranchised...this isnt good at all...the govt is suppose to protect its people not take advantage and betray us. I hope perry and that economic council cant sleep well at night because what their doing to us is criminal!...when its time to pay the piper oh yes they will pay...:hammer:
I can only hope Mr, Bootle fights back and takes it to the Privy Council...enough fis enough with this bogus foolishness! This is our country!

They will lose, ask the Williams clan and their fight over cave point.
bahamiangoddess 07-03-06, - 11:52 PM I hope after Ginn finish buying all that land in West End, we could still drive through to go fishing by the rocks near Batelco. After all these family island anchor projects take over, what will we have left. West End is so beautiful right on the water, it will be a shame to lose that end of the island, it is a real out island setting. The Government needs to realize that this is what makes the islands of the Bahamas unique. Many tourists come to the Bahamas to get way from the big city and bright lights.Things like going to see Bone Fish Foley and sitting on the dock by Artis Neely fishing is part of what makes West End unique.
