Have any of you watched the movie the Burning Bed, well I did and apparently so did a man in Freeport, The incident happened last night. Apparently a man waited until his wife went to sleep and set the bed on fire with his wife and 9 yr old daughter in it. Both were taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, the wife was burnt on 60% of her body, while the daughter was burnt on 20% of her body. The daughter was released from hospital while the wife is still being detained for treatment. The man is presently in police custody. Ironically the movie was on tonight. Maybe t.v is bad for you after all.

Yeh, boy the things people will do! I remember last year being on the scene of a murder in Freeport where this husband essentially cut his wife's head off with a knife. And chile the police put a beating on him Im so sorry to say, cuz when they got to the scene the husband was like "is she dead? cuz if not I wanna finish da job..."

Well it wasnt what she did..it was an abusive relationship for years. In fact they had just gotten back from court (they were splitting up) when he killed her. They had several kids too. Very sad.

Afterward her family was speaking out against domestic violence. Now I dont know about her family, but in general I wish we would learn to raise our voices and put action to those voices about such things BEFORE a life is lost.

Yup for real. I understand that in the "burning bed" case, his wife was going to leave him - so I guess it was a case of "if i cant have you no one will."

Now his wife will suffer from the burn injuries - should she survive, for the rest of her life.

TV didnt cause it, cuz if he didnt burn her in her bed, the scum wudda would have burnt her in the bathroom or gas her in her car or something.
