LMAO.....

They are building it should be 8 feet above everything else, so maybe that will take care of flooding.

no, lee dem right there and let them carry on smartly...it will be the REST of West End who will suffer more from hurricanes...they probably always were fond of 8-10 feet of water in their homes...:sarcastic

Well tell everyone to start building their homes on 12 feet columns.

I think I see the part of the Bootle property, but it looks like that land in being taken away only to plant alot of park space on.

remind me again why this has a french name and its in paradise Bahamas...this may impress some but im thinkign about all the environmental degradation...tree carnage...displaced and disenfranchised Bahamians by this Ginn foreignor and the 2000 acres of Bahamian land lost, stolen infact, to make room for low class, arrogant and pompous foreignors who think they have as much right to Bahamian land as us and who dont knwo there 2nd class place in our country...I hate Perry Christie...I hate him. I can only hope when we get VAT we continue to impose customs duty and a tax on winter and second home residents...fix they arse and they butter and grits.

Even looking at the site first hand I didnt realize the total size of the project.

Looking at the plan in Detail (http://www.create4imi.com/Resources/BahamasSiteMap.pdf) It looks like West End will have one entry only, from the back road. They have some property going over to the north shore too with the retail village....I wonder what that was.....

And actually, the lay of the land you see on that sketch doesnt exist yet, but it will after Ginn gets done dredging channels and canals that will forever change the way water will flow in relation to the land.

It sort of looks like da big hotel-beach complex in Port Lucaya.I been on da West End plenty and there een much there,it is pretty desolate and barren. If da gubment looks out for GB it may be a good ting.Does anyone have a viable alternate plan for GB? Dey hurtin out there ya know.Folks is still livin in hurricane damage from 2 years past, plus last years damage.
If someone has a better plan for GB please offer it.I een so sure dis is good but wat else is there?

Hmmmm..........they havent described any phases of construction yet. i didnt know there was going to be sooo much canals there. I was wondering where were they going to get all that fill from to raise the ground level.

That has no comparrision to the Lucayan strip. That thing makes Our Lucaya look like a discount motel.

What really makes me mad is that there is a Bahamian family claiming it as their land and Ginn already drawing out maps :sparky:

I didn't mean da size.....I meant da layout with the pools n' building in line.BTW/I would tink all the soil to elevate the project will come from the spoils (dredgings) from the canals.:sailing:

Anyone heard that Ginn has fired all the Bahamian employees and is preparing to fire the local expats too?

Story has it that Ginn's dredging permits are being held up...
