I just wanted to create a list of lies/false promises that the PLP made.
um
1. To build the straw market...
It coming soon. They started digging some years ago, blocked off the only parking spot on bay street...but it coming.
2. To increase employment...
Ah...that coming too. All kinds of anchor projects gan start in 2007, just in time for general election. Construction will be booming...But for those who have two left hands and can't fix a fart, we gan have to wait till 2008-2009 to get a job.
3. Fix the Airport...
It gan come...maybe not this year, or next year, but it coming...I remember Sol Kerzner complained about the airport and Mr. Christie said, he gan fix it before he name it after Lynden...but oh well. the cart before the horse is a common thing in the Bahamas... The airport nah is named Lynden Pindling Airport...Even though it won't be recognized as such until 2009. When ya does rush things, ya does forget to plan these things out.
4. To create health Insurance...
They say that coming in 2008. I can't wait...Out of all the promises, I eager for that one, even though it gan left me broke...But don't forget the Doctors up in arms about it...so 2008 may turn into 2009
5. To follow a code of conduct...
Ah well...I even ain't ga go there...
6. To secure beaches for the Bahamian public...Well at least there was an annoucement that the PM plans to buy back some beaches... Albeit, that they selling all the beaches and LAKES in the same breath.
7. To increase foriegn investment...Nah the PLP did do this...We ain't see it as yet, but all kinds of promisary notes signed. We gan be booming in a few years. Nassau gan look like Las Vegas...Party in the back yard all night...to hell with the 12 midnight noise curfew....Junkanoo will be year round...
8. To restructure the down town area...Well, the commitee met, an agreement was forged and down town still looks like a dump. But help and hope is on its way. They plan to move them huge trailers and the sort and put them somewhere...I say that that ain't ga happen anytime soon...lets say 2010
