Concerned residents of the Fire Trail Road east area in New Providence say they are determined to remain on the land where they are in spite of yet another notice from the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Housing advising them that they must vacate the premises immediately.

These people live off fire trail east. When you get to the curve instead of turning with firetrail and heading for carmichael road you go strait down a dirt road, past the rasta camp and round some coners, in and out of some deep valleys (is is a dirt road) and you end up in the area just behind the hill off harold road where the government has built and completed some houses and the squatters are just on the outskirts of this area.

I dont care how long you have lived somewhere, I dont care what squatters rights law says, it is my opinion that if you did not buy the land, if your mamma or daddy did not buy the land, you did not pay rent for it, you aint gat no papers for it...then it aint yours. Get the hell off!

I know they will say that the owners was not cheking so they mussy did not want the land. Crap. You should see where they does build these houses. So deep in the bush inscets cant find them. Who landowner you know does check they property and go diggin through the bush. If it aint a residential area I dont have to clean my property down. If i come to check my property every six months, I would have to go in with a backhoe to find them. .

How they expct the government to accomodate them? To find new homes for them? They are thieves and should be fined or made to serve some jail time, not rewarded for their misdeeds.

Good to see someone get back on topic. I can't see Sidney Collie advising them not to move. He should if he has their best interests at heart meet with the Minister and arrange a timetable for them to vacate. I feel that they should vacate as they didn't buy the land and how fair would it be for a person to go to their property and find someone else living there and some lawyer telling them not to move. I need to go check my property in Exuma before I have to kill somebody myself.
