I was at a brain storming session and we were speaking about the way forward for Immigration for the Bahamas.

It was so interesting, but it was revealed to us that there is a plan afoot for all illegal Haitians to organize a one-day strike. Haitian-Bahamians and all Legal Haitians will join them as well. After carefully considering this bold and courage’s plan that is been planned right under our noses, I concluded that this could have a serious effect on our country.

What say you?

I find it rather ungrateful If I do say so myself but let them do what they must...the law of unintended consequences and murphy's law dictates... :sarcastic

but what would be the reason for a strike playing devil's advocate?

So what you are suggesting is that the Haitians in the Bahamas are meeting in secret places in the dark...holding meetings concerning the politics of the Bahamas. Apparently there exist some well organised civic, social Haitian group that meets every monday evenings with branches from Eleuthera, Abaco, Mayguana and Fox Hill and Carmichael Road being present, making crucial decisions about the direction of Haitians in the Bahamas.

Watsayu, are you saying that this 'zoe pound group', beat vodoo drums at night summoning all Haitians and their decents to the hollow tree and the camp fire and have concluded that, 'they ain't going to work this tuesday.'

They ain't ga weed, they ain't ga show up to the big construction sites on PI, the arawak home projects, the fish fry moreover, the midnight cleaning crew.

Hmm, I find that hard to believe! Watsayu your group, it seems has too much time on you'll hands, orchestrating conspiracy theories and propaganda in order to ensensed the entire Bahamian populace.

Rewind and come again, and explain why the FNM party so ineffective!

Well if there is any truth to this, it would be the perfect opportunity for Immigration to get off their behinds and do their job. :hammer:

The only ggood thing I can see coming from such a strike is that it will force Bahamians to become more self-reliant. In other words weed ya own garden, intead of aiding in the de-stabilization of this society by hiring illegals many of whom then go on to breed exponetially and put a strain on resources in this country.

This is the same thing the illegal Mexicans tried in the US. It had little or no effect. If they are going to copy strategy, they need to find a winning one to copy

When Shane Gibson was first made Minister in charge of immigration matters, he had Hatians on the run here in Exuma. You did not even see them like you used to.Now however drive through George Town on any morning and they line both sides of the road in front of Silver Dollar, big and bold.It certainly did not take long for Mr. Gibson to get smack down and put in his place. My, my my my....
