I just dont get it...this man is the face of the rogue developers on Guana having their way raping our Bahamian environment and he wants us the Bahamian voters...specifically the people of Fort Charlotte (from what I keep hearing)...to take him seriously come election time? Do these people have any gumption about themselves...you will know them by their deeds and this man is showing himself to be a wolf in sheep's clothing by his defense of these folks...and he isnt the only one my friends...carl bethel defending the snake speculators on rum cay (im searching for the US judgements I am) and raynard rigby and royal oasis...conflict of interest abound...and they arent the only ones...I know the country is small but my Christ its looking more and more everyday like these foreign entities go to these lawyer who are politicallly connected...
Who is on the side of the average Bahamian?
...no wonder Hubert met with the DLC folks...no I see...

this isnt funny...worst case scenario this man wins a seat...his clients will think they can influence peddle in our country...I dont like it...I already said the charlatans have already aligned themselves at hubert's side...I like hubert (all the way)...but he has a few suspect folks on his fnm team...that's why its so important to focus on the issues...that's why I keep saying the people have to win...(w/ transparency and accountability)...because from my vantage point what it seems is that one political parrty is more corrupt that the next and it has a lot to do with and the deciding factor in that is by seeing who is the present administration of the day...hubert cant be everywhere at all times.

I get your point, but what I dont understand is why people malign lawyers for doing their job, which is to represent clients - whomever they may be.

I'm not taking up for Bakers Bay or any other client, but in law lawyers are taught to hold to the ethic that it is unethical to "choose" your clients, or in other words to decide which client is worthy of representation. This is not what lawyers should be doing..even though we might hold the view that some clients need to just burn at the stake.

As for "the average Bahamian", to hear some tell it, they dont consider the residents there to be the "average bahamian" since they are generally well off, white and 100 percent of them have jobs.

Im just saying that this man hopes to be a public servant and his behaviour be it legal expertise or not is not indicative of someone who has the public interest in mind...you will know them by their deeds. Will he still remain counsel for DLC if elected?
when i say average bahamian I mean those who arent connected in that sense of the word...those who dont know "so and so"...but they still have the rights to guard their heritage and a say so of what goes on in their backyard...the govt didnt give them that opportunity they just threw it at them...talk about consulting...when everybody else goes home to nassau it is those guana residents that have to live on guana...regardless if they are well-off, white or not!

If we do not want the lawyers like Barnette, et. al., to continue to give it to us without any lubricant then other people need to step up. What happen to Zhivargo, Jeff Lloyd, Marlon Johnson, etc. etc.? We will not get any meaningful reform of the medical profession, the insurance industry, the banking system or land reform (land registration) as long as the lawyers are large and in charge. Why you think they shaft Tommy in th FNM and BJ or Galanis in the PLP? Tommy was going to shake this thing up.Hubert and Perry are two sides of the same coin. They are for the status quo.
