bahmaboy 09-06-05, - 11:28 PM Bahmaboy, I think that men like you are why we have such a problems with young girls in the Bahamas ruining their skin by bleaching. I'ts a shame that you are not the minority and most Bahamian men share your ideals of beauty.
i am sorry you feel that way. heres what to tell your sisters who feel like they need to bleach etc. THE ONLY WAY SOMEONE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL INFERIOR IS IF YOU ALLOW THEM TO.
i would also like to ask how did we get on skin color when we were talkin about hair. it is ok to switch topic cuase thats what keeps a convo going. all the famous sisters i mentioned are black women, well mya kinda dont count. but the rest definatly aint red bones
bahmaboy 09-06-05, - 11:31 PM YB. I think the fact that black women in the west have been belittled, distorted, raped, and treated as cattle for so many years, might make one angry when she sees a white woman with what we consider a "GOOD" black man. History has shown that from the middle passage up until only a few years ago, that white men had access to black bodies, doing with our black bodies as they may. A black man could be killed for just looking at a black woman (ex. Emmitt Till). So when we see you with a white woman, automatically a black woman might think that she is not good enough. (HISTORY). Look at the images portrayed of black women, (The Mammy, asexual, or the hypersexual Jezebel). These images have been constructed of the black woman to make her believe that she is substandard, or immoral. So don't feel bad when you walk in with your white woman and get the nasty looks, we're just thinking what does she has that i don't?
thank you for posting this. i always knew when a black chick sees a black male with a white girl she thinks "what does she have or can give you that i cant" but i never knew why.
well each black woman needs to get over that hump or get even and get a white man lol.
i have to ask why are we still stuck on this white/black thing. so if a black female see a black man with a hispanic she feels better?

oh God..when will we get over it! for fcuk sake! My boyfriend is Italian, and black guys dont seem to bother that he has taken 'a sister'...nor do italian chicks same to care...and before you start..yes yes, its different when you use the historical argument...but please, dont you people think its time to move the hell on? this is my biggest problem with 'black america'...still have that bloody chip on their shoulder - and that is the precise reason black americans can hardly progress....always thinking someone trying to keep them down! im not in denial that racism still exists. it does everywhere. but as BB said, people consider you inferiour, when you act and behave like you are!

We got here because all the sisters you listed were light skinned with European looking hair or weaves.

Not meaning to be offensive right,But if you behave in life like you do in BI, the average Black man really won't consider you a sister & therefore no great loss.

I noticed earlier that you metioned that you are in Europe, have you ever lived in America and experience race there as a black woman? Race is define and acted out differently in some European country as appose to America. I am a Bahamian born and raised, never experienced blatant racism to any extent until I went to the U.S to study. As wealthy as America is black folk in its country still do not have access to the many resources as their white counterparts. One does not need to think oneself inferior to be treated as such. (NEW ORLEANS, HURRICANE KATRINA!)

what resources are these?
bahmaboy 09-08-05, - 01:22 AM burkina you think monica ans aaliyah are light skinned. LOL
also like i have said i have carefully observed black americans and the ones keeping them down is them. like rory said please point out the resources they are not being afforded.
the two black male judges on tv brown and mathis u know where they from: the ghetto, the steets. i dont know were mabeline and that other black lady, her name escapes right now.
heres the key to success in america and countries like it: hard work, discipline, and determination to pull ur self up those who do this (black, white, hispanic, african, indian etc) will get ahead
sittin on your butt doin nothin with ur self, those who do this (black, white, hispanic, african, indian etc) will get nothing.
its just that simple and as soon as black america relises this they has a group will get ahead.

i am sorry M but she has a point. how is it a total black female stangers business to get all uppity becuase she is with a non black male?
it is just totally uncalled for and maybe that female should be tending her own business

lol! what you mean cause i dont seem to be all down with my blackness? jokes! no worries..average men (regardless of race) don't interest me in any event...
:cutie:

Burkina: i havent actually...and you may be right...that is probably why im not as hung up about it as you are. we both came from bahamas, where we were not really concerned about racial issues, never really experienced being 'in the minority'. we have ended up in two totally different parts of the world and have developed totally different views on these matters. quite bizarre actually. oh well, to be honest europe isnt so great, and england is certainly not, but thank God...i'd rather be here than there anyday!

a female sibling to a male derived from the same womb or shot from the same wad
