he always does this...he never takes a stand of conviction!

when allyson maynard came out and said lng would be signed in the next week...I was hurt shocked upset and dismayed...I thought that chapter was over...then the say no to LNG campaign took right off where it began...amen...then the "rabid" & "drug trust fund" heir miller came out with his talk...and Im thinking...are these people serious...then the bickering started...well it een got nothing to do with me (encroachment on the part of maynard-gibson)...and understandably so as it was in his portfolio that this all came to light and it still falls under his responsibilites...mixed signals and conflict of interest all around

so many things jumped out at me...and Im still thrown for a loop...but I guess the essence is in the not knowing...but my gut just tells me this isnt right...

1. why was allyson making the announcement in the first place? de sit have something to do with her being the initial lawyer for AES that why she feels attached to the potential environmental degradation? in any other coountry she would have to go before whatever ethics commission her govt had and she would reprimanded and rightly so...t makes me think...what is she in govt for...herself? or the people (oh we didnt forget sharky or bahamar allyson:cop: )

2.why is leslie so adamant to get this thing through...does he really understand this thing...with the level of intelligence he shared witht he Bahamian public to date...I care to differ...or is it that someone got hush money?

3. Why are AES still here...is it because we have given ourselves a raw deal...and they stand to gain and profit tremendously from our ignorance...thanks comments section of sir arthur's article.....very technical I believe but you can get through it...I did! (http://www.bahamapundit.com/2006/08/bahamas_approva.html#comments)

4.Why cant we have LNG for ourselves...I mean if this is helping Florida...why cant this help us? and why dont they want it so close to them?

and most importantly...

5. as alluded to by the bloggy ppl...where is our PM...potcake perry?
does he say anything of anything they will cause him to choose sides and take a stand of conviciton and make the hard decisions?...he jes as politically impotent as a dinna know what!

the day is coming when they all have to stand for their misdeeds in fron tof the TRC? what will they say?

I appreciate your seniments.....but point#4 makes perfect sense to me.We need clean energy, why can't we have it for ourselves? As far as Florida? It is probably far cheaper from a regulatory standpoint to have it here.Afterall...where is there any open waterfront space in Florida? You know"and I know you do,because you lived there" there is an LNG terminal right in downtown Boston and has been for 30 years, wit neva an accident.

I can respect that...

I wear many hats...

as an environmentalist...I dont like the idea of it...in the age of global warming and all the environmental destruction and degradations and lack of care and concern for our environment I have a serious problem with it.

as an armchair economist this could benefit us...but not the way this deal is set up now. I know Boston is giving themselves a good deal...did we ask Trinidad how they got theur deal...or consult with them? Did they ask the bahamian people how they felt? Are we paying attention to the company AES;s past indisretions...we dont know what were dealing with...what would make any of you think that AES has our best interest at hand?

I might be wrong but I see it as a different fuel. We had an oil spill out west shouldn't we stop inporting liquid fuel and oil as well. They are not good for the enviorment either.

Please what am I missing here??

your missing a lot as usual...:o we could curb our dependnce on fossil fuels if only we would focus on alternative energy resources...e85... e10...bio-diesel...things of that nature...it could help Bahamian consumer...tremendously!

it is a different fuel and if this was helping us I could be more accomodating but its not and the few pennies in the millions een worth it for the money aes will make...we must stop givin gourselves a raw deal and do what's best for Bahamian people and not just a certain rogue and corrupt sect of Bahamian society. and speaking of oil spills...maybe this new technology can help us... (http://www.technologyreview.com/read_article.aspx?id=17230&ch=biotech)I like this mag...its so informative and exciting...I should subscribe to it...check out desalation in spain...to the bttowm of th page...if we researched those things maybe water shortage woldnt be ana issue at all... (http://www.technologyreview.com/)

....is our govt going to the the water conference in mexico this year...

We don't have enough farm land to produce enough bio-diesel. We need clean cheap fuel. LNG is clean and cheap (relatively speaking). We need diversification of our economy, this is a good first step.

Personally I would not sign the deal were I in Government. There is an organized opposition to this and it is probably not worth it politically to go ahead with it. We will all see what happens, I hope they do their best to educate the public about whet the deal means.

What are you doing about alternative fuels. I will be bringing back the last of what I need to try making bio diesel.

do you know how dumb and stupid you sound...our PLP govt gave away 15% of Mayaguana amounting to 10,000 acres for their so-called joint venture with the I-Group out of Mass...we are a country of only 300K...how much alternative energy do you think we need to sustain us? If our land isnt good for cultivation...then shouldnt we focus on research and technology? think before you comment...jesus! but then again this is coming from someone who considers prime virgin bahamian land...worthless...how dumb could you really be! you have no idea of the amount of wealth we have do you?

some people know not what they know not...touche
