Man, you gatta wonder about those Chinese authorities. They killing half a million dogs to stop rabies. The way they do it, is to come to your house, take your dog, and club it to death in front of your eyes. What kind of people can do this? There is other more humane ways. Reading the article made me sick. I am a dog lover.

Look, 16 people out of 3 billion aint bad. That rabies death number sounds just like how many people die in the US.

The chinese have a long way to go in understanding life. I am a dog lover myself lurks, and couldnot possibly allow anyone to do it to my pooch. At least not club him to death.

Why slaughter half million dogs+ instead of tracking down the true sources of the rabies? To most, a dog (or pet) is like a family member, and are treated as such. This issue won't be looked upon favorably by animal lovers across the globe, and may actually bring a back lash to the Chinese International Industries!

I for sure don't think that our local chinese do this or serve road capture or road kill as food in their stores. :liar: If at the slimmest chance, they should be arrested. Do time then deported. Abundance of stray dogs or not, that doesn't give then the right to cook them and serve them as food!:mad:

They could, but even if one does not get infected with the disease, does that mean that they won't get attacked by a rabid dog? The injury is just the same, and can lead to other infections. And imagine the cost to try and heal those who have been injured by an attack - this, after they've spent X-amount of dollars on vaccinations. They're essentially 'nipping the problem in the butt' (pardon the pun). I don't support their methods of dealing with it, but I do understand the concept. As others have mentioned, however, there are far more humane ways to deal with it.

Just my two cents.
