lock75 08-07-06, - 11:32 AM Despite all our shortcomings, The Bahamas was determined to be one of the best places on earth to live. No wonder foreign investors, second homeowners and migrants are flocking to our shores...lol

I guess you can't always believe the hype. If the economic boom that is predicted occurs we may be #1 next year.

There was another survey by a social psychologist who ranked it 48th or so. I guess it depends what variables you use.

When was that survey done? Remember the last few years saw some devastating disasters that touched most of us. I am sure that contributed to bringing down our happiness level.

it depends on whose Bahamas your talking about because from what I see there is more than one Bahamas
1. the foreign "its better in the Bahamas" experience
2. the black elite and their circle experience
3. the white elite and their circle experience
4. the poor and downtrodden..outside toilet...water bucket toting experience
5. the outislander...independent and neglected but still surviving experience
and I though the our kind of people mentality was confined to the states...my heart aches...
notice how I numbered the different Bahamas'...it is a hierarchy scheme ;)

There will be poor and downtrodden in every nation girlfriend.
chancellor 08-07-06, - 12:29 PM I think the rest of the world was angry at the study in the UK, that used variable that should have mattered, but no one cared about, placing one of the most backwater nation as the most happiest. This one factored in wealth and stuff, things people actually think about, or things at least the civilized industrialized world cares about.
And Yet Europe still sucks...lol
I guess your happiness in this country just depends on the way you view things, and for some people, which party you follow.
