lol! Reminds me of here on Grand Bahama. Our two government high schools in Freeport are GROSSLY overcrowded, and the govt hasnt put the first shovel in the ground yet to build a new school - even though the money (granted by the Port) for the school has been there since the end of 2001!!!

Every year they say they will build the school. And then every year comes a new excuse for why the school hasnt been built.

And every year they have been given millions of dollars to build new schools and een build one yet. So WHERE IS DA MONEY????

The money is either in someone' Swiss bank account, or tied up buying city market, batelco, and coke for the benefit of the governmen't friends and accomplices.

What makes this situation even worst, is the fact that is on the open field. They might put a fence around it, but AF was a problem school, as far as tryin to keep out the outsiders. They could hardly do it with an 8ft wall! Can you imagine the security nightmare the school is gonna gave now.

Where are those 1500 students gonna go during break and lunch. That area where those trailers are is so small. I guess the idiots at MOE will convince the govt to "temporilary" close the tennis court facility!

btw> stop stealing my ideas!:lafs:

I rode pass AF today and at that time the news was on with the minister saying that all schools will be ready for the fall sysmester. If AF will be ready for sept then i will say they truly are a party sent from God.

Its a shame about these schools. T.G. Glover it seems took 1/2 a decade just to get a contract. Doris Johnson doesnt even look like it is completed. Its a shame that the facilities at these schools are so sub-par.

This just goes along with the entire state of education in this country.

I will appluad them on the work they are doing with Mable Walker. It seems like the second school closed they tore down that block and every day since the guys are working to build it back up even bigger. Dont know if they will be completed by Sept 4th but they seem like they are almost there.

I ga feel sorry for those students. Hope dat building don't crack and fall down. God forbid. The beltcourse went on today and the roof tomorrow. The browning and finish went on the same day. The paint followed as the finish was almost still wet. Hope the good Lord have mercy on those teachers and children and protect them while at school. Let it crash on a weekend or holiday.:walk:

The government refused to give Sir Jack an account of where the $1 million went, even though he and Edward asked that the money be used to repair schools on Grand Bahama.

The money was donated by Jack and Edward personally. It was not a Port Authority donation.

When the government announced that all the NEMA funds had been exhausted, not a single school had been touched at that point on Grand Bahama as far as repairs were concerned.

Lol Maybe next time they better contract the work out themselves.
