WinterGrace 09-06-06, - 10:06 AM I feel the same......trying to forge a convoluted alliance by defining a co-relation with the struggle of black folks.Trying to compare a racial issue to one of sexual preference.Sex is a pastime, the struggle of our ancestors wa full time! If this preoccupation with sex and sexuality is wa these people are all about,I really doubt their sincerity or the value of their input concerning important the issues of our society. :escape: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: WinterGrace 09-06-06, - 10:07 AM A wedding is different from a marriage. I don't think people understand that, they sometimes take the wedding more seriously than the marriage itself :uh: WinterGrace 09-06-06, - 10:08 AM so whats yalls views on non christian marriages? Tru you don’t know me so stop trying to put words in my mouth. I am a black man who lives in America and as much or more than anyone I argue for increased awareness of the issues that affect people of color on this site. Go back and reread would I said. . . . slowly…. Look again….ok now breath in and out. Let it digest….comprehend. slowly…s l o w l y..Ok…. You understanding a little better now? The scope of prejudice inflicted on Native Americans is entirely different than the scope of the affect on African Americans and people of color…..which is different than the prejudice against Hispanics in some culture……which is different than the prejudice against people who are of Islamic faith….which is different than the prejudice against Jewish people….which is different than the prejudice in some places against Catholics which is different than the prejudice against Christians in some place which is different than the prejudice against gays. Some of these people are more easily identified as member of a class than others. The scope and affect is different for each group. The beast that is prejudice remains the same. Vicky 09-06-06, - 10:35 AM *sighs* I don't think I have anything left to prove with you. Brcause you can't Sarah gave Hagar to Abram to be his wife. Thus when Abram and Hagar had sex she was his wife also. So yes you are right you have nothing left that you can prove. But please do try again. Vicky 09-06-06, - 10:38 AM I feel the same......trying to forge a convoluted alliance by defining a co-relation with the struggle of black folks.Trying to compare a racial issue to one of sexual preference.Sex is a pastime,So to you sex is a past time ok lets look at that. So heterosexual get married because of a past time??? the struggle of our ancestors wa full time! If this preoccupation with sex and sexuality is wa these people are all about,I really doubt their sincerity or the value of their input concerning important the issues of our society. :escape: Vicky 09-06-06, - 10:43 AM If they are consistent with the definition of marriage -- I have no problem. Marriage: 1. the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc. 2. the state, condition, or relationship of being married; wedlock: a happy marriage. 3. the legal or religious ceremony that formalizes the decision of a man and woman to live as husband and wife, including the accompanying social festivities: to officiate at a marriage. 4. a relationship in which two people have pledged themselves to each other in the manner of a husband and wife, without legal sanction: trial marriage; homosexual marriage Don't forget you can marry 2 bottles of ketchup Vicky 09-06-06, - 10:47 AM I don't think people understand that, they sometimes take the wedding more seriously than the marriage itself :uh: agreed Ting-um 09-06-06, - 10:49 AM Brcause you can't Sarah gave Hagar to Abram to be his wife. Thus when Abram and Hagar had sex she was his wife also. So yes you are right you have nothing left that you can prove. But please do try again. Marriage is a union between man and woman formed by God. Where in the bible did Sarah become God?? Unless you mean to say that Sarah gave Hagar to Abraham to be his concubine, in other words, someone to procreate with -- then you are right. But if you mean wife in the sense that she had the rights that Sarah had or that God approved of the union -- then you are sadly mistaken. Does it even matter?? If I take back what I said, that Abraham had one wife -- does that change what Jesus said?? As I recall he was speaking to Moses and his tribe. If I don't bring this back to the main point you'll steer clear off course and the discussion will end up being about nothing. Just like you ruined 5,000 other threads. Vicky 09-06-06, - 10:51 AM How do you feel about them? I had a non christian marriage. as in no chuch no form of religion at the wedding and a gov marriage licence.
