Vicky 09-06-06, - 11:42 AM 1. A promise is no different.A promise have no religiosity there for not a vow using your trend of thought
2. If you lie in court it is called perjury. If you lie to the state in any way it is called perjury.
But if I am affirmed there is no religion between me and the court or state. Thus no church and state.

You have a clown's image in your head, you who "jump across the fence" with a man dress up as a woman but yet when you look across the fence your mind depicts altered images but yet you standing right next to one...how ironic LOLOLOL :dancer2:
Ok Winter.
Somewhere along the way we got off track and we started more attacking each other
http://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/violent/sterb032.gif http://users.telenet.be/eforum/emoticons4u/violent/sterb021.gif
and stopped discussing the issue. We both adults and even if I don’t agree with your position and maybe even have acquired a distaste for you based upon those positions…. I can and should respect you as a person and a human….after all I cant ask for something I’m not willing to give. So I offer a white dove of peace :chicken:
(sorry this chicken is all I could find).
If your up to it….lets take a step back. End the personal attacks….at least for today (I know they can be fun). … and lets act like the adults we both are amd argue issues without making it personal.
Deal?

So you're trying to redefine or navigate the laws to suit you??

I normally don't respond to personal attacks, I usually ignore them but when the person continues esp. in different ways I tend to "respond" So, I am to blame as well...it's a deal
Vicky 09-06-06, - 11:51 AM No its not. There are some Bahamians that want to marry their sister. There are some that want to marry their pet goat. When a pet goat is a consenting adult that would be a different story. As far as sibling marriage goes they don't need it as they are next of kin anyway.
The law doesn't allow people to do what they want. Whether they are heterosexual or not. The law defines what is legal and what is not legal. Marriage between a man and a woman is legal. Marriage between a man and man is not legal. You don't have to be heterosexual in order to marry. Only a male marrying a female.
So again, how are you unequal??
That is why the law/policy will change to provide for non heterosexual unions/marriage.

But i am glad.

1. You said the law allows some people to do as they want while not allowing others to do as they want. How does that change when one wants to marry a sister or pet goat?? Are you saying its ok for the law to establish who should be allowed to marry??
2. Will change?? I certainly hope not.
Vicky 09-06-06, - 11:55 AM So you're trying to redefine or navigate the laws to suit you??
No
There was no religious vows promise at our wedding.
When I affirmed in court there is no religion between myself and the court or state.

Really how is concenting adults discriminating???
How do you feel about them?
I have the same view on them as i do on Christian Marriages .. :dancer2:

There are others wanting to get married that don't qualify as consenting adults.
And family members are consenting adults.
Incorrect.
A vow is similar to an oath or swear. It is a promise to God. Go to dictionary dot com. The word "vow" has religiosity all over it.
This also brings up the side issue of church and state -- as long as perjury is a crime, there can be no separation of church and state. Perjury is lying. Lying is not a crime. Lying is a sin. To punish someone for perjury or breaking a vow -- as in a divorce -- is to punish them for sinning.
Hmmm, yah got a point ...
