DO NOT bring any prenap forms ONLY bring life insurance beneficiary grants.
:chicken: <-----> :cry:
i thought we were at peace winter?
Lol.. but thats not a serious comparison.... and thats not what i want. AND YOU DISREGARD THE TRUTH IN MY POST. Religion was used argue against such things.... was it not?
Ting-um 09-06-06, - 07:11 PM You want to change words. How about these ones
Major Rex wants people to come and support the movement to assist in a constitution which keeps the union of marriage people of the same race only. Whites can only marry whites and blacks can only marry blacks. It's this Sunday, August 27th at 6:30pm by Rawson Square. Bring your money.
.....mikki my friend....not so long ago....not so long ago
Change your perspective and you might change your mind.
I already posted my response to this.
And actually, the arguments are not similar. People are drawing comparisons where there are none. "Blackness" is a false identity forced on a group of people to make it easier and more justifiable to oppress them. Homosexuality is a non-identity that people create that allows them to bring their sexual behavior from behind closed doors and into the public forum -- while at the same time insisting that what they do behind closed doors is nobody else's business.
Big difference.
Again, you are pulling the race card??
WinterGrace 09-06-06, - 07:13 PM Just to remind you.
http://www.belovedofgod.org/paper-interracialmarriage.html
...or maybe someone personal religion has no place in another persons personal life.
See how quickly the religious sword can be pointed in your direction.
I am not concerned about interracial marriages because there is no proof in the bible suggesting it is wrong. There is only one thing that confirms how a marriage should be 1) between a man and a woman
You say the "religious sword" can be turn in my direction. However, if you are a Christian and you believe in the Word of God...this "religious sword", some issues will pierce you like a sword because we are all human and imperfect....
Hebrews 4:12
12"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
No one is immuned to the Word.

1) We are at peace but yet you come on this thread and call me a prejudice bigot AFTER the "peace deal"???
2) It is what you want...at least that was the FIRST example you used for you and homos wanting to be married when someone asked you millions of pages ago why you wanted to be married. The first thing that comes to your mind is usually the cold truth...
Bahamasinmyheart 09-06-06, - 07:41 PM Again, you are pulling the race card??
your great at asking questions.....not so good at answering them. Not so long ago... people used the bible and religion as weapons to prevent people of different races from marrying. Please distinguish those arguments from these ones. Please tell me why those people were wrong?

Here it is again.

Alien 09-06-06, - 08:12 PM Vicky and dem doon believe in the same bible we do ya know!
With all of the crap and unreasonable rhetoric, they can't possibly believe the very same bible you and I do.
So, talking to them about the bible is useless.
Bahamasinmyheart 09-06-06, - 08:31 PM Here it is again.
Ok.
Let me see if i can get my hands around this one.
I presented you with the fact that bigots once used the very same arguments, bible and religion to argue that people of different races should not get married.
Your response is....
1. the arguments are not similar because when they said "black" people...The bigots were just forcing a label on a group of people in order to allow the bigots the ability to more easily hate/marginalize/oppress black people......and you dont believe that "blackness" is a real identity.
&
2. that when the bigots used the same arguments, bible and religion to hate/marginalize/oppress gay people.... well ...here you say that “gayness” is another false identity....but interestingly enough you dont claim that this identity is one used by bigots to force their oppression on us (like you claimed above )….no….here you claim that this identity is one used to allow us sexual deviants the ability to express our deviant behavior in public.
:board2:
Ok.. Just to remind you this is all in response to my question asking
“Not so long ago... people used the bible and religion as weapons to prevent people of different races from marrying. Please distinguish those arguments from these ones. Please tell me why those people were wrong?”
So …wow Mikki thats....uhh....thats pretty stupid.
1. Blackness is an identity … I happily claim it.
2. Blackness is more a social cultural identity than anything else. There is simple no reason scientific or religious why anyone could/should claim that there is anything wrong with two people of different races marrying.
3. More importantly who cares and what business is it of anyone to argue how their interpretation of the bible should be used to regulate who you love as an individual, white or black, or Asian, or Jewish…..or………….gay (boo!)
4. But I guess it would be hypocritical of you to make those arguments.
It is why I asked the question.
Bahamasinmyheart 09-06-06, - 08:44 PM 1) We are at peace but yet you come on this thread and call me a prejudice bigot AFTER the "peace deal"???

My dear they once made it illegal for black people to own property, to vote, to live in certain neighborhoods, to marry white men and women, to sit in the front of the bus, to drink water from the same fountain, to play golf at the same public golf course, to go to the same school.
I dont want to marry a white man/woman.
I dont play golf.
I hate the busses in my city.
But i will fight for my right and yours to do any of those things.
....so while im not personally interested in getting married. I will fight against laws that seek to limit my personal freedoms based on your personal religious biases.
RockWell 09-06-06, - 08:45 PM Brcause you can't Sarah gave Hagar to Abram to be his wife. Thus when Abram and Hagar had sex she was his wife also.
So yes you are right you have nothing left that you can prove. But please do try again.
:biggie: Dang fella quoting scriptures that says homosexuality is an abomination, trying to prove that homosexuality is not an abomination. :dgi: Bey when ya dumb ya dangerous.
RockWell 09-06-06, - 08:50 PM Very well said :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
The first part is to funny
Just a little add in equal human rights is all people being equal no matter what group/class you are in.
Equality for all or no one is equal.
No one will ever be equal. What you're saying is prue foolishness.
Bahamasinmyheart 09-06-06, - 09:00 PM No one will ever be equal. What you're saying is prue foolishness.
They should be under the law. To accept otherwise is foolishness.
RockWell 09-06-06, - 09:01 PM No
There was no religious vows promise at our wedding.
When I affirmed in court there is no religion between myself and the court or state.
Uh? Do you really know why people affirm? Holmes the whole purpose of affirming is strictly religous. Boy I tell ya. Sips soda water.
RockWell 09-06-06, - 09:04 PM consenting adults family or not. No religion should impose its policy on people. No gov should impose policy on people when it comes to relationships with consenting adults
you looking at it from a sex point of view. But sex does not make a marriage now does it??
So why is it yinna feel the need to get married again? :dgi:
RockWell 09-06-06, - 09:13 PM They should be under the law. To accept otherwise is foolishness.
Under which law. BTW: Laws are not equal, what I can do over here, I can't do in the US or some other country.I state again equality is a myth.
