In addition to lower rates for overseas calls, BTC has re-branded its DSL high speed Internet by introducing I-Connect.
"I-Connect is a faster Internet connection than the DSL and has a lower monthly fee, officials said.
"With I-Connect we have improved the service internally as well as with support, so it’s a really good product that we are launching for our people and we hope that they take advantage of those two important products of BTC,’ Mr. Symonette said"
If it is faster then why are the old speeds still quoted on BTC's site and Batelnet's site. Does anyone know exactly what these new speeds/prices are?
maybe its ADSL.. which is already old ..
Sunflower 08-31-06, - 01:06 PM Perhaps it is a way for BTC to try and become more competive against, Vonage, Indigo as these services are drastically taking a big chunk out of their overseas market.
dont forget Skype ..:dancer2:

You mean to say that BTC isn't already offering SDSL at sensible speeds and maybe even T1 lines? Wow that will be a disgrace, plz say it ain't so!

All of BTC's residential and at least some of their business DSL packages are ADSL. I am not aware of what other packages they offer but I am pretty sure that they must also offer SDSL and T1 packages also. I am not endorsing them or swearing for their service which in my experiences with them was terrible, but they do offer the packages and I am sure that some customers must be happy with it.

According to this, they have 1 ADSL at $490 per month.

though its possible that Cruise Speed pacakge is just areally slow ADSL one
Either way, for a business, they have to get the $490.00 package to compare to Cable speeds .. which are much cheaper.
Oh yeah .. i dont know a whole lot about DSL personally so dont quote me! :)
though for remote video apps DSL here just didnt cut it.
Alien 08-31-06, - 06:23 PM I een wan hear a flap doodle about BTC.
They cut me off in mid sentence, went and paid my bill and still I am down.
With that, someone died "my condolences" but, the whole operation does not need to shut down for one person's death?
Anywhere else would be outrageous!

DSL is Digital Subscriber Line. ADSL is Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line. SDSL is Synchronous Digital Subscriber Line. Synchronous describes an account where uploads and downloads are synchronized. ie the same speed, Asynchronous describes an account where the upload and download speeds are not synchronized. ie one is faster than the other. As all DSL packages but the most expensive ones offer higher download speeds than upload speeds most are ADSL.
I don't know what BTC calls the accounts but those are the definitions.
