Ting-um 09-07-06, - 09:45 AM So you just voided my response based on nothing more than your say so??
I didn't void your response. I pointed out that you were crazy. I didn't say you were right or wrong. I said you were crazy. Which is pointing out the obvious, but I think it was called for.
Rizzo 09-07-06, - 09:53 AM Homosexual marriages are coming. They are coming here....they are coming there .... they are coming everywhere.....sooner or later
Um, we can hardly get our electricity to stay on, roads fixed properly, political leaders and police force to avoid corruption, criminals to face justice, etc. and you talkin' about gay marrige comin' soon? :fly:
Trust me, gay marriages will definitely not see the light of day in this country within our lifetime, and maybe never at all. If you believe otherwise, you are living in a dreamworld. :friday:
Vicky 09-07-06, - 09:50 PM I don't usually do this, but.....anyone see the interview with Toni - I mean Vicki in the Guardian? Crap!
Do you mean this???

I like this part
Looking at her the average person sees a normal middle-aged woman with a pleasing personality and a ready smile. However in reality this is one of a small percentage of transgender people (someone who crosses or bends the gender boundaries) who reside quietly in the Bahamas.

Ok then you did not void it you said I am crazy thus the responce is crazy thus not worth reading or responding to. Thus void.
But that is what you do you don't answer most question because if you did ________ Well at least wash your feet first.

The article was very interesting read. In some aspect you begin to understand the surface of Toni's mind, understand his history, however, you never really understand exactly why he does it, it's still a mystery.
Then you get an even bigger picture when they interview his wife, seems like she has some doubt about the gender role and she struggles a bit even though she seems to be very supportive. Example:
"If we go out in public and he is dressed in drag and I am holding his hand people are going to see two women holding hands and think I am a lesbian, which I am not. I married a man. I have to live with this. It is very difficult knowing that I have to deal with this. I can accept him like this. It does not change how he treats me nor our respect for each other."
All in all, it was a very good read.

That was me Rory.
I have taken more steps than just dressing as a woman.

So are you as unhappy and confused as in that piece?

Remember Nadine could not put all the info that was given here she had hours of info she met a lot of my family.
so as to the part above she also said if she was holding hands with her sister she would be seen as a lesbian by people. My wife makes it very clear that she does not have a problem with me. She has a problem with the sociaty problem with us.
" "It makes me very bitter simply because we have no freedom here in the Bahamas, so everywhere you go you get ridiculed for it," she says. "You get comments and then you have the fear of people becoming obnoxious or nasty towards it. Anytime she goes out now she wears her nail polish and everything. You know she is into the public's eye and people do not agree with it, they make their comments. I do not want to be a part of that. That does not change the way I feel about him/her or anything like that because I have been with him for eighteen years. That's my partner, that's my soul mate. If there was something that I could give him to take to cure all that I would, but the world is not like that, it will not change.

Well based on that piece you have brought drama, fear and confusion into your family's life, although they seem to be trying to support your decision. I wonder if you've ever thought about how their day to day life is and if it was worth it. ps: People can be pretty selfish at times & only see the effect they want to see. JMO
