View Full Version : Fifth Boy Missing in Freeport Grand Bahama
sparkle 10-01-03, - 05:35 PM Everybody at the Win Dixie food storeneeds to be interrogated. I can't believe that after it happened the first time it was allowed to happen not once, twice or three more times...but an unbelievable 4 more times...and still no one saw anything?!?1? Hard to believe!
dreeve 10-01-03, - 06:55 PM From my experience with Freeport and the area, the Customs and Immigration is too relaxed.
I believe all the boys are gone off the island via boat.
From personal experience, I could have come into, and out of the Bahamas via boat and never been caught.
There is a BIG problem in this area.
Ever wonder how most Haitians get to the US???? THrough Pt. Lucaya or West End.
The Government officials are asleep at the wheel!!!!!!
Priscilla H Carey 10-02-03, - 12:30 AM I too am BAFFLED about these missing youngsters in Grand Bahama.
I am outraged because we see the news on HEADLINES in the newspapers but I don't recall the POLICE chiefs calling for a PRESS CONFERENCE to give an update or a Progress report on what effort is being done with an investigation.
No doubt an investigation is going on; but the public should not be kept guessing. REAL lives are involved here. WHAT is the POLICE doing, what campaign has been undertaken to prevent more boys from going missing, HOW MANY MORE will go missing?
CALL IN EXPERTS from abroad if need be but DO SOMETHING and give us some comfort in knowing the police is doing something to find the culprit/s
I am of the opinion that without giving compromising information about an investigation; the POLICE can give us a sense of ACTION being taking for the SAKE of these boys.
Let's keep them in our prayers.
Is anyone in Grand Bahama able to tell us if people are being interrogated there? searches for clues? something? Hello?!
godson 10-02-03, - 01:02 AM Priscilla I have to take issue with u on this one,The Police in Freeport has been on this and the other cases from day and a press conference was help soon after this 5th boy went missing! Mr Greenslade and staff is doing a tremendous jobs in these missing cases, unfortunately its not being successsful so far because people in Freeport who know what is happening is not talking! I understand however that information has finally started to come in however, and the police is now a little more hopeful! Also for your information, the Police have from before this last boy went missing gotten and continue to get help from the FBI, Scotland Yard, and the tv program Americas most wanted , also the National Missing kids foundation in America. If u were to keep abreast of the national radio ZNS , you would have known of these actions! however we all must continue to pray and hope for the best! This is a real puzzle, but God will unrevel it soon! Also yes the Police have question individuals and continue to do so! There are a lot of undercover work being carried out in these cases too. that the police are not able to reveil as yet! SO yes the POLice in Freeport are on the ball on this one!!I too am BAFFLED about these missing youngsters in Grand Bahama.

venesha 10-02-03, - 02:32 PM And anyone who refuses to have there homes searched; it should be looked at as grounds for suspicion.
Well Delroy I personally think that it is their rights to have or to not have their home search.I agree with you but at some point I don't, if it was that those missing kids are found in a residants home then this person needs to be punished, but searching homes are a good idea don't get me wrong, but why don't we cut down those bushes and have cameras placed around the down town area especially "winn dixie" supermarket and have policeman post at every school.
I use to live in Freeport for quit some time and the down town area is an open area, especially around winn dixie, people are coming in and out of the stores in the down town area why is it that no one saw when these kids went missing. If our so called "Government" would do their jobs instead of making public speeches everytime when a child goes missing there might be a chance of them finding these lost kids.
Why don't we as a community take precaution and take the time out to walk or drive and pick up our kids from school and from their part time jobs a half an hour before school's out and pick them up from work a few minutes before time, or why don't you make up a plan to tell your kids where to meet you and what time. Maybe you might not have transportation but after knowing that one child went missing shouldn't you be more careful with your child safety?I guess not because there are "five" kids that went missing. We need to be more careful and more concern about where our kids go.But yet I do agree in some way what you are saying, so from that lets be more careful where our kids go, what they do and the company they keep. :)
Delroy 10-02-03, - 03:28 PM Good points venesha.
Lets see how today goes.
I got word that some persons have already been arrested in this case.
Delroy 10-02-03, - 07:49 PM It would also be a good thing if the public would cease with all the rumors that is spreading about this case.
I would encourage all Bahamians to continue to pray for hope that these boys are still alive.

Right you are Delroy, but we can't help but speculate! It is our nature. I hear that the police have made an arrest. Lets hope that this is coming to an end. However, I would advise everyone to still be on their guard. We are not out of the woods yet!
godson 10-02-03, - 10:21 PM I am sorry to say that the police has NOT made any arrests in these cases, what is happening and has been happening for a while now is that persons were brought in for questioning as information comes in to the Police. However all of those pwersons have been released except for one who is still being questioned! The search and investigation is sTILL on for the kids nad the perpertrators of the apparent criminal offence! Please continue to pray for the situation in Freeport!Right you are Delroy, but we can't help but speculate! It is our nature. I hear that the police have made an arrest. Delroy 10-02-03, - 10:30 PM I had my suspicions today as to the legitimacy of what was being shared at the press conference today in Freeport. Or if the entire thing was just to calm the public.
I know that the police are under pressure to bring this matter to a conclusion but honesty must be maintained or more panic will evolve to something worse if another incident was to accrue.
I wonder if we are back to square one in this case.
I agree that these boys are the victims of some sort of satanic sacrifice. Your average serial killer does not prey on/at the SAME location. Furthermore, they generally leave the body where it can be found.
I think the police need to take a good hard look at the employees of this store, and other regulars in the surrounding area. They need to investigate these people thoroughly.
More than one person is involved, and if the authorities do their job correctly, they WILL find a link somewhere.
:what: Frankly, I am surprised that Winn Dixie is not being held more responsible. All of the boys worked there, and they seem not to have taken any extra precautions to protect their minor employees. It would seem to me that when the first boy went missing, Winn-Dixie would have enacted some sort of system to ensure these children got safely home. This was not done, because even after the second, third, fourth boys went missing on their way home from work, Winn Dixie still did not make provisions.
They know the are hiring children who come from homes without a lot of money and yet they did not get a van to drop home all the packing boys, and they did not enact any other methods of safekeeping.
WINN-DIXIE's office here in The Bahamas and internationally should be ashamed that they did not do more.
AND, TO BE ON TOPIC: IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING THAT EVERY HOUSE ON GRAND BAHAMA SHOULD BE SEARCHED AND ITS INHABITANTS QUESTIONED. ANYONE WHO RESISTS, SHOULD BE SLAPPED REPEATEDLY FOR BEING STUPID AND UNFEELING.
dee23080 10-07-03, - 02:45 PM Why should Winn Dixie, be held responsible, did some one slip and fall.
dee23080 10-07-03, - 02:47 PM Come on PLEASE! "satanic sacrifice" for too long we were in the dark..we've had serial rapist, a man being raped, murder suicide, why is it hard to believe that we the Bahamas can't have a serial killer on the loose.
Well actually Nassau had experience one such a few years back I think it was late 80's early 90's, and I was approached by the killer and his sister and his mother.
So Please Get your simple mind out from where ever you've kept it all these years. and know we're not third world, we've caught up.
May we keep holy His name, and know that HE is LORD!
Techno-Bunny 10-07-03, - 07:13 PM Anyone know anything about the RPG (Role-Playing Game) that Steve McKinney mentioned on his show this afternoon?
I don't know which game it is or what the particular storyline involved, but apparently some young "informant" has told him that there is some particular game that has been holding the attention of these boys for quite some time. He also made some loose connection between the progression of the storyline and the progression of the case so far.
I know we shouldn't get caught up in every rumour floating about, but because I know these boys have also been linked to one of the game rooms in Freeport I was just curious.
Anyone know anything about this?
