talkthis 10-28-03, - 03:28 PM Thanks for the warm welcome Delroy. So interesting to see that you were born and raised in Andros. So was I. Then I moved to Nassau. But I must warn you that I'm from South Andros...so if you're from North Andros that doesn't really count. :shaky:
Talk soon

I was born in Fresh Creek and moved to Nassau also.
Fresh Creek is Central Andros but I have family in the north.
As for not counting North and Central; I think you have that backwards :p

lissa 11-07-03, - 10:56 AM Hello Delroy and talkthis. I am very new to this forum and while reading your posts, I found out that you both were from Andros. Well, I dont really know how much information I can give about myself while here, but please let me know if you know anyone from Cargill Creek. My father is an Androsian. I also have family members that live in Fresh Creek. Does Bain sound familiar to you?
Delroy 11-07-03, - 11:47 AM Hello Delroy and talkthis. I am very new to this forum and while reading your posts, I found out that you both were from Andros. Hey lissa,
I was born in Fresh Creek and I grew up in Cargill Creek.
I know all the Bains and they are like family to me.
I am also family to the Leadons who I am sure you know if you know the Bains. There is a good chance that we could be related.
Lets talk
:D
lissa 11-07-03, - 01:46 PM Hello again Delroy. I am so pleased to know that you are familiar with my family. I do know the Leadons as well. However, it's been many years since I've seen them. I dont wish to shock you with my identity but I am the grandchild of Willis and now deceased Christina Bain. You may certainly then be very familiar with my dad but he has been gone now for about eight years. Depending on your age, we might have even hung out with others at one place or the other on our many summer trips to Andros. It's been many moons ago since I've walked that never ending road that leads from the seawall to the back road in Cargill Creek. I miss it dearly. I'm sure many things have changed by now. I do remember the Russel's as well. They used to own the bar not far from my grandparents house. I believe that I was about the same age as the son called Dimey. I also remember a young man that they called Clemmy, as well as Mr. Leadon's sons. Well I dont remember their names but I know that they looked just alike and were quite tall. The ladies that I remember were older than me but they were friends of my sisters. I can actually see there faces as I'm writing this. Oh well, now you kinda know me. Maybe we could be related. However, since my dad, my uncle and the men that were with them went missing eight years ago it seems like a whole lot has changed. Rumors of what happened still ring in my ear just about every day. It's changed the family alot but I love them all dearly. Just as I should. I know, I'm saying too much right? I just hope that truth be told one day. I also hope that daddy was good to your family. If not, I'm so sorry. See, I now have a family of my own and famiy is to be cherished no matter how distant. Take care okay.
Delroy 11-07-03, - 02:06 PM Tell me about it lissa.
I am sure you remember my mom Laura and my aunt Shirley.
If you know Dimey then I am sure you know Ricky his brother. Me and Ricky are close friends and he is also a member of this site: Click here for his profile: http://www.bahamasissues.com/member.php?u=4
If you want to talk privately we can do so over e-mail or instant messenger.
If you have a messenger service from Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL you can click any of the icons under my posts.
Thanks.
lissa 11-07-03, - 04:03 PM Hi again Delroy. I am trying so hard to remember everyone. I know that I know them because the names seem so familiar to me. Anyway, it will come to me soon enough. You are right when you said that I knew Rickie. If I'm not mistaken, he is the youngest boy, right? I could still remember seeing him while walking down the back road so many times. I remember Frankie also. He was just a bit older than Dimey I believe. I went to Rickie's profile and was shocked to see how much he's changed. He is truly no longer that little boy I remember growing up. He has grown into a very well groomed young man. Oh, how time flies. I also visited your profile and I was very impressed. You have the best interest in the world. I am always so proud when I read of young men and women who are not ashamed to say that they are all for Jesus. PROUD of you! I was also impressed to see that you are a web designer. That's great. Anyway, I feel like I have so many questions to ask and so many things to say to you. I have not been to Andros for a long time but I'm sure that you keep up on the changes. Actually, I moved away from home more than ten years ago at the age of twenty-one. Yes, dont run now, but I'm thirty-one years of age, married for ten years with a seven year old son. Okay, there you have it. I just gave you a brief view of my life. Oh, I want to say that I'm really sorry for breaking that conversation that you were having with talkthis. However, I'm glad to have found you. Take care. Will talk soon.
Delroy 11-07-03, - 04:21 PM No problem Lissa.

I am sure we will link up later.
Delroy 11-08-03, - 12:51 AM Hey Lissa,
I remembered I had taken some photos a while back during a trip home.
They aren't the best of quality but I will take some new digital ones when I visit again before Christmas.

This is a photo of some kids out by the bay area collecting shells.
I remember those days. :D

I don't think I need to tell you where this is.
I miss those days jumping off Pep's dock and there were so many sharks in this creek but we weren't scared at all.

Gal puddle is still being used by kids today after generations :D
They should make this a National Landmark in Cargill Creek.

I am sure you remember Daralyn (AKA Spee). This is a pic I took of her and her kids out by the Site Dock.
Hope you like um :)
lissa 11-10-03, - 09:05 AM Good-morning Delroy,
Thank you so much for the memories. I do remember all those places. Now here's my problem. I enjoy computers but I've never sent photos over the internet. A few of my friends have done it before so I can count on them to show me. I would like to send a few of myself someday soon. I hope that you had a wonderful, blessed weekend. Take care until we talk again.
