Boy Sidney Stubbs needs to take his show on the road...

"Saying that there were Bahamian politicians like Sir Lynden Pindling who had undergone "greater degrees of difficulties" than he ever has, Holy Cross MP Sidney Stubbs said Thursday that he is convinced that he is the right man to run under the PLP banner in that constituency in the next general election....." THIS IS THE GRASSROOT VERSION OF WHAT SIDNEY SAID!!!!! (in Red)

Lynden Pindling went through commissions of inquiry. I was never accused of cohabitating with drug dealers or doing this or doing that. I was never accused of selling a nation. I was never accused of doing this," said Mr. Stubbs, who was a guest on the Love 97 programe "Issues of the Day".

I did not spend drug money, I never went to Normans Cay. I only borrowed legitimate money and could not pay it back. (everyone has some rainy days)

The show’s host, Wendell Jones, told Mr. Stubbs that he cannot compare himself to the late former prime minister, and the Holy Cross MP insisted that he was not.

I am not like Ping, I am much better than him, what we did was not the same.
I think what I did was not even considered white collar crime, there was nothing criminal about what I did.

Mr. Stubbs said, "I am looking at the stark political reality and I can look at other countries where politicians have gone through periods and they’ve emerged from the fire, stronger, better equipped to give better representation to their people, more mature to firm up the body politic…and also to be a better asset to their parties."

Look at Fidel, and Chevez, hell even Saddam, they are assets to their countries.

The Holy Cross MP said politicians like Sir Lynden who underwent difficulties "stayed in the political fray, developed, became very successful and moved on."
IF Ping went through all of that and was still elected Prime Minister, I only want to be a M.P.One person was involved with a rape allegation, das way more serious!!!!He still successful and moving on.

He said there are many examples of politicians around the world who have come from the depths of nowhere, pointing even to German dictator Adolf Hitler.
And again Fidel Castro, Saddam, they made it!

He said he has gained support in Holy Cross "across the board".
After I was declared bankrupt, support for me increased!! People knew I was innocent, then the courts cleared, more support after that.

He added, "With the Korean boat situation, that was a process where I took the time out at every single meeting that I had at Holy Cross. I explained to the people exactly what happened. I explained to the people that that was not my project."The majority of the people of Holy Cross believe these are issues that are behind me and they would like to see me move on and continue my representation."

After the commission of inquiry, people said all manner of things about Sir Lynden, but he went to his people and told them his side and they believed him, and he moved on. I want to move on and close the closet door with all my skeletons.

Further responding to Mr. Allen, Mr. Stubbs said, "It is amazing that one is prepared to forgive John Blow, but not prepared to forgive and forget Sidney Stubbs, and the very concept and notion that one can say that three or four issues would compromise a political party that happens to be an institution in this country is disingenuous and designed to create mischief and problems."

I mean I was only involved in three scandals, one with some boats, B.A.I.C and as for the bankruptcy, I was cleared. I never had a million dollars in the bank, or been to Normans Cay, why you'll can forgive me??????

"I only want the record to be set straight," he said, "and history will prove that a lot of things that were blamed on Sidney Stubbs were not Sidney Stubbs’ doing."

I want you'll to know when the F.N.M win and they have another commission of inquiry, you'll will see I was telling the truth.
He said many things that were blamed on him had been calculated "from day one".

THEY FRAME ME!!!!!!Like Shaggy said "it was'ent me!

Well you knew this "backlash" was gonna happen eh....

"Certain comments made recently by Holy Cross MP Sidney Stubbs resurrecting allegations made about the late former prime minister, Sir Lynden Pindling, have irritated and annoyed some PLPs who feel his statements were out of place, and out of order.

While appearing on the Love 97 programme "Issues of The Day", on Thursday, Mr. Stubbs said some Bahamian politicians like Sir Lynden were able to overcome greater degrees of difficulties than he ever has and he pointed to accusations made against Sir Lynden in the 1980s at the height of the drug trafficking era.

But PLP Chairman Raynard Rigby said the comparison was unfair"...... (http://www.jonesbahamas.com/?c=45&a=10010)

but it really doesnt matter...he isnt tight work...he cant handle his own business so why should we allow him to handle ours. Im glad he got his business together...but go find something else...we dont need you.:fly: it just amazes me the depths of how low some people can go and what they will do...and in my opinion, he wasnt even diplomatic at all...despite what he was saying is true. this is up to the people in holy cross to decide and let's hope they send a resounding and clear message.

I listen to that show and if he even get considered to run again I'll be amazed. I mean Stubbs made himself look like a total arrogant fool on that show. The kicker for me was when a constituent asked for the number to his headquarters..... First he say he have a headquarters but its closed then he gave a number to the closed headquarters for the lady to call..... After all of that he then admits the number was off, headquarters was closed but he uses the monthly cash allotment to clean up the area instead of opening a new headquarters...... so after his numerous tirades about every other country's world history that relates to his current position he finally gave his cell number as a contact for his constituents.... damn I was so confused. Matter of fact I still confused cause he can't be serious in life.

Sad thing is, Stubbs made more sense than the PM...
Now that is scary!

Raynard Rigby: "I certainly saw the comments and I would have thought that as a country we would have been beyond trying to resurrect those days in our political past where we know that Sir Lynden was unjustly criticized and unjustly condemned by people in the media, by a cross section of the Bahamian population, and so I really thought that that comparison was most unfair."

So was Ping unjustly condemned by certain people in the media and the populace...
Did he ever find an extra million dollars in his bank account?
Was there ever a need to have a commission of inquiry regarding his involvment...
Well According to Raynard nope...Ping was innocent and in fact, there was no drug cartel living in the Bahamas during the 80's. All of that was made up just to discredit Ping...

Raynard think we fool!
