For me Junkanoo was a big treat in my young years....

the thrill of getting up at 4am in the morning to go out and see the costumes and hear the junkanoo music was the biggest excitment of the year for me.............

however my children would never experience that great feeling because of the time change...... i know that in Nassau it remains the same, i would like to know why it had to change here in Grand Bahama ?

Being a part of junkanoo and performing in junkanoo half of my life i agree in a way but for years junkanoo in freeport has and was never as competitive as in Nassau so they decied to put it later so that people from Nassau who rushes for other groups can be able to go to freeport and partake in the festival.
