View Full Version : Senator Gomez Resigns, PLP Rift exist
watsayu 09-24-06, - 01:04 PM According to a most reliable source close to the heart of this information, this writer has been reliably informed that Senator Damien Gomez has submitted his letter of resignation to Perry Christie to become effective September 30, 2006.
According to the source although the PM has accepted the resignation, efforts by the PM are been made to ensure that there will be no political fall out over this resignation. I am advised that no such luck will be granted to the PM. Senator Gomez is steaming hot and angry over lots of issues, some to include political infighting in the ranks of the PLP, corruption, the lack of decision that is made by the PM and it maybe a lot more.
I know for a fact that Senator Gomez has been meeting with Hubert Ingraham who has informed Senator Gomez that “timing is key to a successful public relations effort over some of the fall out”.
Stay tune for more developments.

Is it Gomez meeting with Ingraham or Ingraham meeting with Gomez?
And does your source say whether Ingraham does still meet with Christie to discuss how they plan to make fools of the Bahamian public??

You should answer that since you seem to have the answer.

It wont surprise me if he did resign. I think he is screw over the ninety matter. It have nothing to do with corruption or infighting. He is simply covering his hide from the ninety fallout!

Was Gomez one of 90's lawyers? I did not know that he was conected to the case. Has the government made an official statement about the public's concers to put the matter to rest? Was due process followed or not? Nation (I think) said that becasue the Americans dropped thier first case that the habeus corpus issue became mute as it applied to the first indictment. Can the lawyers/ judges on BI state catecorically whether this is true or not?

I know that you are in the know...
I was just making of what you already know...
Prosperity1 09-25-06, - 02:18 PM Gomez has always been objective and honest about his views and opinions, he called it the way he saw it even if it meant opposing his party. Maybe other politicians should follow his lead.
It would be a wonderful thing if he and Ingraham are talking, he would've gone back to where he started out if that is true, after all ingraham taught him what he knows about politics.
Why is somebody a turn coat if they do not see things the way we see them, or cease to see things the way we see them? "Let every man be persuaded by his own opinions".

It does not concern BI members that Gomez has been married 10 times and he is not forty yet? Someone like that would set off alarms in my world view.Woman can get on a man's nerves but that is rediculous to have been married that many times, especially in our culture.

Well using your number or example rather (cause I am assuming that you are exaggerating that number, at least I hope so) the situation around his personal life would be alarming but frankly.... his personal life ain't my business in that regard. Conceptually he has seemed very practical and clear when he has spoken/ written or addressed issues. For that I have nuttin against the man.... now I will say if his personal character is "grayish" to use a nice term then I can see how that would turn ppl off from him as an elected official. But overall, I don't know the man or is personal trials, tribulations or successes... so I only gern on what I know........If u got the facts... enlighten ma!
