Do the Bahamas have a consumer protection law, because without this vendors cant be held accountable for faulty goods and services. Here is an example.

I know people who purchased Hyundai accent (1998- 2002 models) these cars gave alot of consumers problem, one case in particular a lady bought her car and a month later had transmission problems. The company repaird the car however a few months later it would be back for the same problem. the dance continued untill the warranty had expired and then the lady started being charged for the repairs. I belive this should never had happen the car should have been replaced or moneys refunded.

I have friends that have purchased a lcd monitor from a popular elctronic store, the monitor died a week later, yet they did not want to replace it. they wanted to reapir it and when they couldnt they offer store credit to a lower value.

I wont even start with the shabby contractors out there.
Bahamians need a legal way to deal with these hoodlums.:cop:

You are right my friend. Consumer protection, town planning, banking reforms for the working class, free cob classes for all subsidized by foreign real estate developers, government integrity, prison reform, disability legislation, electrical cars, justice system reform...

My parents had a similar experience with one of the car dealers in Nassau. They bought a brand new 2002 vehicle and within a few months the vehicle started to rust, then after about a year the vehicle it had transmission problems, one thing leading to the next and now they are experiencing engine problems. To make matters worst, they admitted they sold my parents a dummy vehicle, but instead of trading it in for another, they prefer to fix the problems. Todate the vehicle has been in the shop for about 3wks now with no results. I agree with you we need a consumer protection bill.
