This is what happens if you write something that somebody gets offended over.

I am writing you concerning the message you recently posted on our website today.

Bahamas Issues is a public forum that has viewers of all ages and because of this we have strict rules in place to enforce proper dialog between members of the site.

The contents of your post violates the rules of our website and was found to be very offensive. We are asking you to please remove or correct the contents of your post and apologize for your remarks or you will not be allowed to participate on this site again. If you continue to post offensive content on our website you will be reported to the proper authorities. It is not our goal to pursue this matter any further than we are now.

I am not used to this kind of control over the internet, so really what do you think you can do exept bann me from the site. As far as i know there are NO proper authorities you can report me to for the content of my posting. So please it would really be interresting to be enlightend on the matter. Do the Bahamian authorities really have it written in their laws anything about it, you have already filtered some words not to be used, and that is alright, i see your point of protecting the younger ones and i will respect that.

But realise this, you can not control or deny somebody their wievs, if that is what you are trying, please close the site for the public.
Like some of the really nasty sites on the net, i hardly think they are possible for any Bahamian authoritys to do any kind of leagal pursuit
against, nor should it be.

There are a few things that are illegal on the net, and they really should be prosecuted for child porografy together with harsh prison time it is discusting. Ithink that is something most of us will agree upon, but if somebody makes a statement that will offend some, remember it might please others.

Have this in mind, where would the world be today if Dr Mathin Luther King had be forced to modify and appoligise his statements. The same goes for many of our great caracters like Nelson Mandela just to mention two.

Havent we had enough of supressors in the world. Look at Papa Doc, Adolf Hitler , Saddam Hussein, General Tito and so forth.

We really doesnt need a lot more mini of the above mentioned people on the net, if some problems arent adressed head on some people will never snap out of it. So stop pack things in cotton.

The "founder" of this site, whom I believe to be Delroy, I could be wrong about that, has strong religious beliefs that would prohibit using offensive language or content. When we signed up to post on this site we, I hope, read the rules. If we did not like them or were not willing to live by them we are free to go elsewhere.

A gentleman/lady would respect the wishes of someone like Delroy. No law is needed for something like that. I happen to agree with him. That is why I am here and not on any of the other site that uses profanity and offensive content to get their points across. Profanity, in my opinion, is the rattling of an undisciplined mind. (P.S. I am a Buddhist, but Delroy, a Christian, has no objections to my postings, so he is not the tyrant you think he is.)

Delroy and I disagree, often and strongly. But he has never reduced himself to offensive language or content in his answers to me. If I did, he would edit my posting and I would deserve it under the rules of this site that I, indeed all of us, agreed to follow. Well some of us are more submissive than other, i am not. But i agree and i have stated so in the case here, when it comes to the language, but i am in no way willing to modify my views.

Thanks for the reply and as you know any good Buddhist gives respect to all living thing. I know since i used to be living in the far east for many years.. I am suprised to find a true buddhist here in the Bahamas, unless you are an immigrant.

It is possible to get ones points across forcefully, but with grace. I do not consider myself submissive but I hope I can be numbered among those who offer his opinions with grace - others with have to say if that is so.

Not only do they censor things here, they quite often delete posts and threads that might "show people the light" so to speak. I have personally had three of my threads removed, two WITHOUT NOTICE OR EXPLANATION. One of them was EDITED by the mod, changing my wording of the message.

This is unacceptable behavior for a public forum anywhere but in Iran. Censorship is a slippery slope, we don't want to end up in a police state theocracy run by holier than though bible thumping twats.

I see that you have a special interest in Catholics, which I have an idea why since you are a senior member of this site and we have discussed allot of things.

The rules of this site are fair for all groups and doesn't show any partiality.
Bahamas Issues is an example that people can dialog together without profanity and other ill remarks.

I even intend to modify them in the near future because I have learned allot since the launch of this site and I can now see that there are loop-holes.

Child pornography offends some and pleases others also. Who do you consider to be the right party?

Mathin Luther King or Nelson Mandela never used profanity in their words and the only people who were offended by them were ones who wished they did.

Sorry my good man, but you are mistaken. The link led to a parody of Jack T Chick tracts, and there happened to be a catholic priest in one of the frames. Not a single negative comment was directed at the priest depicted. There was a single reference at the start of the tract inferring that catholics are not christians, but that is all.

As for "racism" against catholics, have you ever read those Jack T Chick publications? They aren't exactly nice to catholics.

Next time, I ask that you actually READ and UNDERSTAND the facts before you jump to a conclusion. You seem to skim over the facts, and just do what you "assume" is right. I don't agree with many of the things that chick writes but I know what I saw on the site you posted a link to. I saw a cartoon portraying a catholic priest swearing and another with one portraying my God doing the same (both are offensive to me and others).
