Kennedy, Mount Moriah Constituents Demand Apologies
By Candia Dames
Errol Bain, a Mount Moriah constituent, told The Bahama Journal on Thursday he teaches his two young sons about how to resolve conflicts.
It’s why, he said, he was particularly outraged when he heard reports that his MP, Keod Smith, was involved in a fistfight with Kennedy MP Kenyatta Gibson at the Cabinet Office Monday night.
"I think it was out of order," Mr. Bain said of the fight.... (http://www.jonesbahamas.com/?c=45&a=10119)
Seriously though, the PM has no political acumen at all. Any other political leader would have immediately cut these guys loose so as to boost their image and protect the image of their party.
People, PLPs and FNMs are genuinely upset about this, and today - five days later - nothing has happened except the PM being dishonest to the nation and his asking Keod and Kenyatta to walk next to eachother heading to Wednesday's MP's luncheon in yet another charade - playing people for fools.
Its like he simply doesnt understand and/or doesnt have what it takes to win and to stay on top.

They should apologize, if only out of respect.
Well, then again the scuffle was private....
They should apologize for breaking up my tax payer money in the Cabinet Office.
Typical however, that the average civil servant gets into a scuffle everyday...and nothing is done about it.
The civil service can be a danger zone sometimes...that is no joke!

Here is Kenyatta's statement he and Keod were asked to sign last night..
Statement by
Mr. Kenyatta Gibson, MP
I am deeply saddened that on the evening of Monday past, human frailty led to behaviour that I greatly regret.
To date, there has been much public attention placed on those events. I know that those events have been sensationalized, overstated and have become the fodder for political exploitation.
I realize that these events declined to an unacceptable and undignified level, I therefore sincerely and unreservedly apologize for my conduct, and I hope that the Bahamian people, my constituents, and my colleagues can forgive me.
My remorse and regret are both full and unconditional. The last few days have been spent in deep contemplation and reflection. Indeed I am sorry.
I sincerely hope that I can put this unfortunate incident behind me and request your support in this regard. To err is human, perfection is divine.
I wish my colleague Mr. Keod Smith the very best and I pray that we can work together for the future benefit of all our people.
As I said in a previous thread, why does Kenyatta need to deeply apologise to us when all he and Keod had was a disagreement that went no further than that, according to the PM?

Thing is, the statement clearly was written for him already and he (presumably) just signed it underneath, because the statement sent to the media was not on government letterhead, nor was it undersigned by Kenyatta as is the standard method in all letters/press releases, etc.

Others went to jail, lost their jobs for far less... they should be made examples of..., they should be made to pay, they should be punished..., coem to think of it... according to Perry PM CHristie... they did noting and the public will come to know that. So why are htey apologizing for..., ok, it is only in my mind that all of this is happening.., it is not a reality....

What 'events'? Kenyetta must take us for fools. What is he apologizing for? It should be stated in the letter. Shaking my head in disgust and total amazement at the share stupidity of kenyetta and the PLP goverment!

Basically, since he essentially said "nothing happened, but I'm deeply sorry".
I was reading a story today about a U.S congressman who resigned because he was caught sending some emails to a young boy. The emails werent at all explicit, but the mere apperance of inpropriety caused him to resign his post.
Ah, if only...

Thing is, the two of them are about to appear on a radio show this weekend in a new attempt to deceive and show contempt for their constituents and for the Bahamian people.
I'm told they were both hunkered together outside the studio comparing notes making sure one person would not say something to contradict the other one - dumb thing is they happened to have done that in an area where others could see them and hear what they were doing and saying.
SMT. Im so tired of these jokers.
