View Full Version : bahamas air is coming back to san andros who care's.
fasttract 10-02-06, - 11:51 PM There is only a few reason i can think off for bahamas air coming back to North Andros and its not for the money, because they said they lose money on this route,so that kill that taught. political reason yes, i think so and the government just don't care about the tax payers of this country because they shouldn't have left in the first place.third to try and kill the competition, sea-link,western air and the small charters plane's that regularly fly in and out of North Andros.to tell the truth i like competition its good for everyone.but taking a 50 seat aircraft (dash8) were a nineteen seater hardly ever goes out full is not a good move to me but that just my opinion.i really would like to know the real reason they are coming back here .WE HAVE A LOCALLY RUN AIRLINE AND THE PRIVATE CHARTERS ARE VERY RELIABLE so i don't see a need for Bahamas air here.they left us and now they want back in, come on ,who they think we are moron.
I dont know andros, but maybe its a Tourism move by the gov ..?
Just a thought ...

Which is really your opinion? Do you think they should service San Andros and should have never left? or do you think they should not service San Andros and not bring a 50 seater where 19 seaters rarely leave full?
And suggesting that they are trying to "kill the competition" is just as ridiculous as should they "kill the competition" they will be left with an unprofitable route that they will be forced to service. Perhaps you should give further thought as to why they are returning to San Andros as the thoughts you currently have are stretches.
chancellor 10-03-06, - 08:16 AM Well I have never seen the administration of Bahamasair as bright, so I have no problem with comming to grips with any of their logic.

Or probably insurance, if its only private charters running now.We also know they wouldn't be doing it just for Bahamians.

bahamiangoddess 10-03-06, - 10:35 AM The move definitely does not involve money, Bahamasair left North Andros because the run was not profitable, I believe politics may be involved. Peet knows that he has lost North Andros and the Berry Island and he also needs to know that Bahamasair ain't going to help him.
Peet mad with Western Air owners because they shame him up in the media last year, he swore he owed them no money for some election flights, but still turned around and paid them some $96,000.00 that he denied he owed them. The P.LP trying to close them down because the owner Mrs. Rolle is running for the F.N.M in North Andros.
As we speak she is again experiencing difficulties getting permits for her pilots, even though she is training and hiring Bahamian pilots in accordance with the requirements.
Western Air is already established in North Andros, San Andros Airport is their hub, aside from that the fast ferry and the mailboat has built up considerable cliental after Bahamasair left us high and dry. Bahamasair is expected three times per week and it appears that to fill the seats they have combined San Andros and Congo Town, the San Andros-Nassau run is 10 mins, why in the world would I want an additional 25-35mins in the air by going to Congo Town, plus Bahamasair is seldom on time.
If I was in Peet's shoe I would leave broke Bahamasair in Nassau and pull up my tiny stake out of Andros and leave. I was at the airport on Sunday, we have no proper terminal, it appears that Bahamasair will have to share a single room trailer with Aviation Department and from the looks of it, only two people can check in at a time, after checking in you will have to stand outside under a small shelter and pray that it does not rain. The plan was not properly thought out, it appears to be a random move on behalf of the government.
Peet needs to stop wasting taxpayers money and realize that he has already lost that seat. Mrs. Rolle has done what no one has been able to do in North Andros that is employ hundreds of young North Androsians, we need those jobs badly and right now Androsians are in survival mode, so we wish Vincent Peet good luck and God speed in his future endeavors, where ever they may take him. :bye:

to tell you the truth i don't see the need for it.
remember they pulled out from north andros.
we didn't leave them they left us.so let them stay away
we have are own airline (western air),sea-link and the small charters flight.
so i don't really see the need.
