i promote a woman's right to chose and a woman's right to have ultimate determination about her body...

Is this really only about a woman's body? Surely, it's deeper than that. What about the baby? Who is going to advocate for him or her? It's not only about a woman and her body...you have 3 persons involved....mom, dad and baby.

WOW, what deep insight and that comes from a graceful lady herself, respecting life in all of its forms... not just the feminist/liberal way of thinking.

Should we allow people to kill an innocent young Vicky, maybe the next PM of the country, maybe the next drug dealer of the Bahamas, I say HELL NO.

abortion is like gambling....
we know its happening but we do nothing substantive to stop it.....
like gambling its legislating morality...ya can't control people like that....
but try stop me from having an abortion...legal or illegal...
i'll be knockin ya out...ANYONE who thinks they have control over my body.....
YA GA GET KNOCK OUT...
NOTTAGE AND ANY OTHER DOCTOR...performing these acts.....call Erin Greene...I GAT YA BACK......
as a feminist activist i don't promote abortions...i promote access to all options, choices, alternatives...
i promote a woman's right to chose and a woman's right to have ultimate determination about her body...
i also promote informed consent...which in some cases means teaching children about sex and its consequences before they become sexually active....

As a man, I don't feel that I have a right to decide what a woman can and cannot do as a right. I feel that the father should have some say, but not the ultimate say. I do not feel that any other man should have the right to tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.

That said, I also feel that a woman has a responsibility to her unborn child and his/her father. With rights come responsibilites. We cannot expect to enjoy the ferry ride that our legal rights represent without paying the fare that our moral responsibilities do.

de readhead, wintergrace...you're 100% right...
what about the child....
lets think about the child before we get hot and heavy, before we get naked....
let's start promoting a culture of sexual awareness....
these grown people act like they don't know that sex makes babies....

and this culture promotes NO ABORTION but abandons babies and children born to dysfunctional families/relationships....

we have created a double standard...
we say don't destroy the life in the womb....
have the child and let SOCIETY DISREGARD IT.....

i am PRO-LIFE also...
are we prepared to give our children the best life possible, quality of life, emotional care....the MONEY and MATERIAL things DO NOT MATTER...are we prepared to love our children...and support them...
create a world that supports them...create a country that upport them...that values them and their needs...

there is no law to stop people from having children...
how can we have a law that forces them to have children....

My God,

you had me thinking that you were going to be saying something for a while..., but you conclusion show that you are maybe void of a little element of morailty and as such it maybe difficult for you to understand what are the issues...,

Maybe the influence of your (not Bahamian) upper level education that has created and turn you into someone who can defend any-act that goes againg basic morailty that you want to...

What a refreshing topic...havent had this for a while! Anyway, what's worse, bringing an UNWANTED child into the world, that you cannot and will not care for, or getting rid of a ball of cells before handing it a lifetime of hell? :jawdroop:

WHO MAKES THAT DECISION???? I could assure you - personally, if i wasnt ready for a kid and wound up preggers (and lets be honest - sh!t happens)...i would want the CHOICE to get rid of it. bringing a child into the world you dont want, or love and will (more than likey) be screwed because of the foregoing, is worng. plain and simple. who are YOU to tell me i must live with the consequences of my actions and take care of a human being that i didnt care to have? a woman must have that right. perhaps if more unwanted babies were *deleted* the world wouldnt be so screwed up today! :taped2:

Well we have to endure you, me and heaven knows {who is there to say ?) we are quite scred up ourselves.

So we do not live in a perfect world.... we do not have perfect people, what we have is people and regardless of what we think of them, people regardless of their state makes this a great world nothless.

If we jusdge people becuase of how we see them and ho wthey look to us,... then yes your point of view is valid... but if we see the each and every person on earth as a gift to the world and as some one to be respected, honoured and love, regardless - our would be a great pleace and the world would be a better place for you and me.....

Just think for a second, you we DELETED casue someone had a view that you would be some sort of freek of nature like yk2bad, that would not be nice...,

Abortion in my view is murder and regardless if I murdered you as you are now or when you were in the womb of your mother, there is absolutely no difference, but I notice you use the expression: "DELETE".

This is an example of irresponsibility and selfishness, you mentioned "consequences of my actions" which is linked to the fact that you know that you did something wrong and instead of owning your responsibility
you decide to "delete" it and you use the excuse of it being your "rights".
