Looks like Anna Nicole isn't the only person to receive fast tracking of her Permanent residency.

Minister of Immigration, Labour and Training yesterday blasted former Minister Earl Deveaux for his duplicitous remarks concerning the fast processing of Anna Nicole Smith's permanent residency application. Gibson held documents in his hands claiming that residency applications were fast-track under the Free National Movement's Administration. He went on to say that Smith's application, which was granted in two months, was not unprecedented when compared to the FNM's way of granting residency.

"I will show the Bahamian public where Mr. Earl Deveaux, after that statement will be considered the biggest hypocrite ever to walk the soil of The Bahamas," Gibson said. According to Gibson, Deveaux said such an act has never happened since ‘thousands' of applications are still waiting to be processed.

Gibson produced documents that he said prove two applications that were processed; one granted within six weeks and another within forty-two days. He continued by saying that he will also reveal controversy surrounding a present Member of Parliament. According to him this member's close relative was granted permanent residency within five days and the application was sign by Deveaux himself.

"He [the applicant] applied on the 9th of April, 2002, it's important to know that because Earl Deveaux said it was unprecedented, the application was paid for on the 9th of April, I have here, Mr. Speaker, where it is approved with Earl Deveaux signature on the 14th of April," Gibson revealed. He said that even though the application was paid for on the 9th, records show that the interview was held on the 8th of April. "Now you tell me how the interview happened on the 8th if it says it wasn't receipted until the 9th that he paid for the application," Gibson rhetorically asked.

Gibson also brought forth matters concerning the million dollars home that Smith purchased which is now being challenged. He said an inquiry has been commissioned by the Department of Immigration concerning this matter. "The file in question contains a letter from Callender's and Co. acting for Anna Nicole Smith; the letter explained that Ms. Smith has unconditionally purchased a one million dollar home located in Nassau Bahamas," he explained. Gibson also provided information of a notarized copy of a conveyance that transferred ownership of the property in question.

The Department of Immigration is seeking the advice of the Attorney General to have these matters concerning the ownership of Smith's home to be referred to the Council of the Bahamas Bar Association, Gibson informed the Speaker of the House as he closed.

What I was surprised to hear was Tennyson telling Shane he needs to resign over this whole matter, and how he kept pushing Shane to table his communication made on the matter, because Shane refused to table his House communication made Wednesday (which included his remarks on Deveaux but excluded all the key information on Anna Nicole's application) - therefore refusing to make it an official communication for scrutiny and to be held to his charge.

Dese dudes too jokey. Tennyson mussy tryin to look like an equal opportunity sell out nah lol.

Remains to be seen I guess. If Deveaux's own came out why cant this one? But it was just humerous how Shane came to the House with all the paperwork from a residency granted under Deveaux, but refused to bring any of the paperwork on Anna that Shane himself signed and reviewed! lol

I hear ya my brutha..but right now the hot seat is under Shane and he is the Minister in power - so he right now has to answer for this crap. He can highlight what Deveaux did and thats all good - but Deveaux een nobody right now and doesnt currently sit around the Cabinet table.

In Tennyson's surprising words anyway, Shane would have had to mislead several of his Cabinet colleagues for this woman to get her papers. So he gotta ansa for it sooner or laterz I guess.

What I know is inconsequential in so far as what Shane as the Minister of the government chooses to disclose to the Bahamian people he works for my brutha.

I can tell you that I know details about that her house situation that most people in the general public dont know, but that is seperate and apart from the Minister refusing to disclose to the Bahamian people what he did or did not do.

I dont need the Minister to disclose anything so I personally can be informed, but he needs to disclose everything cuz its his duty to do so as a Minister of the government now being accused of corruption with regard to this matter.

If he has done nothing wrong, then all the documents in his ministry that he is refusing to disclose will exonerate him. And if he is guilty of wrongdoing obviously the reverse will be true as well.

But the real side-splitter and insult on our intelligence was Shane saying his ministry is going to launch an investigation - into WHAT my brother?

Shouldnt you have made sure things were legit before you gave the woman her papers? And wouldnt you have had to see a whole bunch of stuff including the conveyances, police reports, ref letters, completed mortagage documents, etc before you signed yo signature?

So if he saw all of this and all of the necessary work was done in an efficient, proper manner as he said he does all his business, why does his Ministry now need to investigate what he initially said was an above board situation??

Nation, they MUST throw him overboard (some water ger hit Perry too for his "lump it" statement!) or he will take down the entire bunch when the Bahamian people start calling for his hide...which will come soon!!! He knows this as well! He sounded like he ger hold onto anything that may float his way....while he sink deeper into this blond gate incident!

We need no investigation...he is so mixed-up in that mess...digging his way out will require taking the whole PLP government with him. And think how he took his PM on a joy ride that may cost him badly in credibility and confidence of the people. My! MY! Pride really do go before the fall..nah!

Frankly, I don't feel good writing about this matter...our nation is being "bruised"...not only the PLP!! I was so disgusted when I heard him standing in the house blaming everybody but himself for his highhanded foolishness!! Its a damn shame nah...he was kindda cutting some the fat from the illegal problem...and now he get done in by what's her face!

My young daughter articulated my national feelings at the entire situation when she summed the whole matter with a sad look on her face said: " Why somebody can't do something about all of these ministers making this country look so stupid"? "What wrong with our Prime Minister"?
